HELPFUL HINTS

I have no motive in steering you astray! We all been there, done that: the sky hooks, left handed screw drivers, red tape, circles ...
the whole nine yards.
I'm about giving you 'REAL' helpful hints, straight from the horse's mouth, that will truly be instrumental to you finding your buddies!

  1. The first helpful hint is to 'Keep God Happy'. He knows where each and every member of your unit is, and sooner or later you will need His help. With or without seeking God, you should be able to locate the majority of your comrades by using the helpful hints listed below. But, if you are serious about finding all, 100% accountability, then you will find that you will need Him. When you have exhausted all human and physical means, you will need to rely on spiritual assistance. God will also help you deal with those of your unit that you find, who have already passed away.

    Knowing all this to be true, at least 10% of this web site will be dedicated to God's glory and hopefully all of it will be to His pleasure and likings. A team of prayer warriors have been recruited to stand in the gap, ready for intercessory, fasting, prayer...even to wrestle with angles and to case out demons if need be. For we are going for 100% accountability, by God! And with His help!

  2. Obtain your Squadron's Duty Roster & Commander's Written Report by writing:

  3. Look for old orders. If you don’t have any, one of your fellow comrades might. From these old orders you can obtain names along with matching AFSN’s (back in the day, they used AFSN’s; now they use your SSN). The first two digits of the AFSN represent the following regions, which you will find useful in narrowing your search: AF11-CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, RI, VT. AF12-DL, NY. AF13-MD, PA, VA, WV. AF14-AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC, TN. AF15-KY, OH. AF16-IL, IN, MI, WI. AF17-CO, IA, KS, MN, MO, ND, NE, SD, WY. AF18-AR, LA, NM, OK, TX. AF19-AZ, CA, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT, WA.

  5. With me, it took more than horse sense to figure out some of the above, two letter state abbreviations. I was mixing up Alaska and Arkansas…Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, and Montana. So, here's another hint: AK=Alaska, AR=Arkansas, ME=Maine, MD=Maryland, MA=Massachusetts, MI=Michigan, MN=Minnesota, MS=Mississippi, MO=Missouri, MT=Montana.

  6. You will occasionally encounter typo errors on orders and other documentation. This link, although not 100% accurate, can help you validate a Nam Vet and provide you with his MOS.
  7. Retired, Discharged, or Deceased!

  8. Help promote this site and the cause! Get family members involved! Surf the internet for places that will give us a free plug!

    I've resorted to running a generic type ad, which reads: "REDHORSE CONNECTION", along with my e-mail and our web page address. The word REDHORSE is what us REDHORSEMEN seem to look for, and whenever/wherever we come across it, it jumps out at us, biting us in the a#*. I think it's trying to tell us something. Maybe it's trying to say, that it's still alive; that it's not ready for the big glue factory in the sky. Help us round-up REDHORSES, herd them to this site, and corral them according to their brandings. The rest will take care of its self. The rest will happen!
