Method Man in 'Simple' gang
Dec. 16, 2002

Hip-hop star-turned-actor Method Man has signed on to join the ensemble cast of the New Line Cinema thriller "The Other Side of Simple." Method Man, who most recently appeared on the big screen in the comedy "How High," will play the leader of a local gang. The cast includes Hayden Christensen, Vince Vaughn and Don Cheadle. "Simple" follows two thieves who return to their Midwestern hometown after a long absence and reunite with the slow-witted younger brother of one of the thieves who fell into the hands of police 10 years earlier when the duo abandoned him during a botched robbery. They attempt to use him as a patsy in their criminal plan. Described as being in the vein of "The Usual Suspects," "Simple" was written by Eric Kmetz and is being directed by Joseph Ruben. It is being produced by Gary Goldstein and overseen at the studio by production execs Richard Brener and Matt Moore. Method Man is repped by CAA, manager Shauna Garr and attorney Ken Hertz. Hayden has finished filming Shattered Glass. Looks like "The Other Side of Simple" is next up for him. There is very little information out there right now about this. It's possible he will film it before beginning SW: EP III - from what I understand the filming on that movie will not truly begin until June 2003.

Also, he is/will be producing a live action film based on the comic Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. I know next to nothing about this project right now.
Also, he is reportedly "beefing up" for EP III. *grin*
