Introductory Text:

After continual listening, Andy and myself had given some thought to the content and differing musical styles of the first Time To Think cassette and came to the conclusion that the particular style of music that worked the best for ourselves and which was entirely compatable to the equipment that we were using was straight forward hardcore/punk and although the other music was not disliked, we felt that this was the style to concentrate on for this cassette.

Between the first and second recording session we had, I was introduced to the sicko bonehead Nazi band, Skrewdriver. On my first listening to their music I was absolutely bowled over by the excellent music that they did, but equally bowled over by the disgusting lyrics which accompanied it. Nasty, nationalistic and racist lyrics put to great lively 'sing-a-long' tunes. What an utter waste of music! So I told Andy what I thought of their stuff and we decided to cover a couple of their songs. But, instead os Ian Stuart's sad lyrics, Andy changed them to represent our own feelings. 'Sick Society' is dedicated to the Scottish poet, Robert Burns. 'Shove The Dove' portrays Andy's own anti-pacifist stance and finalises my disposal of pacifist beliefs and ideals which I'd believed in for a couple of years until I witnessed at first hand the Anti Poll Tax riot at Brixton in October 1990. How can verbal reasoning be used against a member of the Police Force donned in full riot gear charging with batons waving and against the very system they defend? For those who may be familiar with certain other titles by Skrewdriver, but not with the songs themselves, I feel it needs to be stressed for the sakes of snivelling left wing scum and other such narrow minded bigots who would just jump straight to conclusions instead fo reading our lyrics that our version of 'White Power' bears absolutely no similarity, lyric wise or music wise, to the original Spewdriver version, but it is instead a new anti racist anthem.

Whereas the first cassette featured Andrew Ross, Andy and myself as the group, which also sported many collaborators, the music on this cassette was done by only myself and Andy, basically because we were the only people present at the time of recording, with Andrew still living in Holland (I think), and with Lawrence Burton lending us his artistic skills in the form of the front cover artwork, so a big thank you to him.

At the same time that this cassette was being produced, work was going ahead on our first single on our own label, Thinking Time Records. Anyone intesested in purchasing it can obtain it from our P.O. Box address for £2-00 including postage and packing. Also, our first cassette is still available from our Box address for the same price as the single.

Finally, it needs to be said that this cassette and any other Time To Thnk release has not and will not be recorded in any type of professional studio as we want to keep all our releases totally D.I.Y. Instead we will continue to use 4-track recorders and other relatively 'basic' equipment and although this may seem very primative to some people who feel that music should only be released if it is recorded in flash expensive studios, produced by someone famous and without any care towards the musical and lyrical content of a bands songs, we will do our utmost to create the best quality releases we can with the limited equipment and finances that we have.

Pete 17/09/91.
