Birmingham, Alabama, as my Mother and I sat on her
front porch discussing the problem of needy people,
the hurt and the pain they live through and the
lack of help for the destitute of our society.This
poem grips the Heart with a serious and to the
point question.."Can You?"
"CAN YOU?"
Can you hear what I feel?
Can you see the Spirit in me?
Can you sense that He is real?
Can you laugh with me in sorrow?
Can you cry with me in joy?
Can you love me when I'm angry?
Can you forgive when I annoy?
Can you give when I have nothing?
Can you receive when you`re without?
Can you help me when I`m helpless?
Can you trust without a doubt?
Can you pray when I am hurting?
Can you hurt when I need prayer?
Can you care when I am lonely?
Can you go where others dare?
Can you give time when you're rushing?
Can you cheer me when I'm down?
Can you break my heart with kindness?
Can you be the one around?
Can you feel what I am saying?
Can you hear now what to do?
Can you feel the Holy Spirit?
Can you let Him live in you?
