Adoption Day Volunteer
Assist with Adoption Days (see schedule on our
Calendar of Events). Whole or partial
shifts are available. Duties range from assisting in loading kennels and
animals in the morning at the shelter in Rossville, setup at the
adoption location, assistance with potential adopters throughout the
day, walking dogs during the adoption day, loading animals and kennels
at the adoption location back into the vehicles and unloading animals
and kennels back at the Rossville shelter.
If you have one hour a day
once a month that you can assist with an adoption it would make a
significant difference. We take up to 30 animals in one day and the more
volunteers that we have assisting the easier it is on everyone. Check
out our adoption day schedule and pick the location that is most
convenient for you. Your assistance would truly be appreciated and will
be rewarded by doggy kisses from our rescues!

Foster Parents
We will provide all of the food, medical care, dog houses, and other
necessities for your foster animal. You simply provide a suitable
environment, lots of love and agree to
bring the animal to the shelter when they need veterinary care and to
all adoption days.

Animal Photographer
Take photos of our rescues to post on Petfinder.com. We post three
pictures of each animal to give potential adopters a good idea of the
size and appearance of the animals. If you are good at taking digital
pictures of moving targets this would be a great way to assist us in
finding homes for our rescues. |
Shelter Animal Socializer & Dog Walker
Provide
shelter dogs and cats with love, companionship, attention, exercise and
training. Walk and socialize dogs. Assist with dog play groups.
Teach basic skills that will help dogs find a home more quickly and
stand them in good stead throughout their life. |
Dog Washer
Help bathe dogs before adoption day so they are more appealing to
potential adopters. We have adoptions Saturdays and Sundays (click
here to see our Event Schedule). If you
have a couple of hours the day before an adoption day give us a call to
schedule time to come out and help us beautify the babies! |

Animal
Taxi
Pick
animals up from the shelter in Rossville and take them to our vet in
Oakland in the morning. Pick animals up in the afternoon from our
vet in Oakland in the afternoon and take them back to our shelter. |
Special Events Coordinator
Coordinate special events which includes working with members of the
community, other volunteers, planning the events, gathering needed
supplies, advertising, etc. Examples of past special events include the
Pet Walk for Abused, Abandoned & Neglected Animals, Give Me Shelter,
Pedal for Paws, Chamber Expo's, etc. |
Special Events Volunteer
Assist with special events. Tasks may include office support, event
day activities, planning and preparation, etc. Call us today to see what
events we have scheduled that you can assist with. Time commitments
range from a few hours to as long as you have to assist. |
Fundraising Coordinator
Coordinate fund raising events to benefit FCAR. |
Grant Writer
Write grants to raise money to support our organization. |
General Office Support
Assist with special mailings, filing, typing, etc. |
