About me

In the beginning...

The year was 1982. Ronald Reagan, the United States' 40th president, was serving his second year in office. Michael Jackson's cash-cow-of-an-album Thriller was released. Great literary works, such as Alice Walker's The Color Purple and Thomas Keneally's Schindler's List were published. The space shuttle Columbia made its first mission and comedian/Saturday Night Live alum John Belushi died of a drug overdose.

But all of these events were easily eclipsed by 1982's one and only truly defining moment: my birth.

OK, you can stop laughing now.

As you can probably tell, I don't take myself too seriously. And you probably shouldn't take me too seriously, either. But in case you're still curious, here's a lil' more info about me:

I'm a writer at heart. I'm 36. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's degree (Mass Comm) and from the University of Georgia with a Master's (Journalism & Mass Comm). I'm a liberal progressive. I can be stubborn. I try to be openminded. I value sleep. I have bad handwriting (which is why I elected to type this instead of writing it by hand). I'm a perfektionist.

I have a DVD/blu-ray/4K/digital movie addiction (but hey, admitting that I have a problem is the first step to overcoming it). I don't care 4 txt msging very much @ all (unless it is necessary, I'd rather make and receive actual calls!). I like to multi-task (why do only one thing when you can do four?). I'm a "gamer" and Nintendo is my favorite gaming company (although I do like Sony and Microsoft, too).

I'm a picky eater. I'm narcissistic (just take a look at this Web site...especially the Year-by-Year Pics section). I'm an artist (though no Michaelangelo-- the Renaissance painter/sculptor or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle). I'm tired of reality television (I like my TV fake!). I need to borrow $20 (can you help a brotha out?).

I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs (I guess D.A.R.E. really paid off!). I'm too liberal with my usage of parentheses (I can't help it). I have two brothers, one sister, one dad, and one mom. I don't think anyone's going to actually read this (that's probably for the best). I'm short (around 5'6").

I like to read (I guess that makes me a geek. But you are too if you're still reading this nonsense). I'm uentflay inay igpay atinlay [translated: fluent in Pig Latin]. I'm rambling. I'm a "boxers" man (as if anyone wanted to know that...). I like to argue (civily, of course). I love controversy. I'm done (for now).
