ABOUT THE CHIEF |
A
Welcome from Chief Hagawana HOW! A big WO-HE-LO (Work, Help, and Love) welcome to all. My name is Molly Cook, former camper and counselor of dear ole’ Camp Nakanawa, and now the official WEBMASTER of this site. Muahahaa. Please, call me Chief Hag. That’s right campers. The Chief is online now. I am 20 years old and a junior at Louisiana State University (go Tigers!), currently pursuing a degree in Mass Communications. This website was actually a project created for my MC 2015 Visual Communication class. Although I miss camp terribly, I have taken advantage of this summer assignment and have had a chance to re-live all the magic and fun of Camp Nak through words, pictures, and memories. |
Nakanawa was home away from home (Alexandria, LA) for 8 wonderful summers. I held a place on the Amazon team (Intermediate Cheerleader 1997, Head Cheerleader 2000) until I had to leave after Tent Row 2000. However, the fun didn’t stop there. I returned to Senior Camp as
a counselor in Summer 2002, eager to experience “the other side” of camp
life. I instructed Tennis, Softball, and Archery, and looked after a
wonderful group of gals in Cabins 16 and 20! Oh, and GO MINNIES! |
