Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 9, 1914 by 3 honorable men: A. Langston Taylor, Charles I Brown, and Leonard F. Morse.

The "Awesome" Zeta Alpha Chapter was founded on May 1, 1931 on the campus of Tennessee State University by 2 distinguished people, one of which for whom our prized Physics and Mathematics Building is named after Alger V. Boswell.
