Day 2
Rise and shine and off to the
Acropolis by 8am. Everything was so gorgeous there. We got adopted by a dog who ecided he liked our group. After the Acropolis, we visited the
Olympic Stadium, and then we split up, some heading for the beach, and the rest of us went to the
Temple of Zeus and
Hadrian's Gate. After our sightseeing, we went shopping in the Plaka and i found quite a few things to buy. We had lunch at an outdoor taverna underneath a lemon tree. I'm developing a taste for feta cheese. We shopped some more and ended up outside the tourist district of Athens. We were trying to make it to the
Forum and Agora but when we got there it was closed. We swore we'd try another day, but didn't get a chance to.
At night we took the metro to a Church on the top of one of the many hills. It was very beautiful, but i swear we must have climbed close to 2 miles of stairs. We rushed back to make it for curfew, and then went out to a cafe. I had a marguerita and discovered that their drinks are about 3 times the size of ours. We stayed up a tad late, about 2:30am, mostly since we forgot about the 6:30am wake-up call for the next day.
