Lisburn RFC - 8 June 2002
Saturday 8 June 2002 - Brussels Barbarians vs. Lisburn RFC (elephant pitch- Tervuren) @13.30pm
Everything started on Friday afternoon when the Lisburn lads arrived to the Wild Geese for what would promise to be a hard night....
After some rounds of beers the boys went to the PLACE in Maalbeek for some more entertainment which would end around 22pm...
As it was still early to go home nothing better than a stagiaires party for some more serious drinking and entertainment..... I guess it was 8.30 went the "day" ended...
Next day the meeting point was at the Bok and Dragon at 12.30 and the kick off was at 14.00 (as we were 30 minutes late..).
It was a good match, with lots of pressure where some players had minor injuries and Etienne ended up in St Luc's Hospital with some broken bones in the shoulder.
The final score was 5 to the Barbarians and 45 to Lisburn.
After the match we watched the Baabaa ladies playing against a french team and in the end of the ladies team as there was still sun and energy we had a mix touch rugby game refereed (??) by Steve Griff. The day continued with some drinks at the Bok and Dragon, dinner at the Napoli and Party again in the Bok and Dragon.
Thanks to the guys who showed up to play and also a big thanks to Trevor Eastbrook for refereeing.
