Match report BBRFC vs. La Hulpe, 5 October 2002
Dear all,
The moment has finally arrived when our Barbarian Women's team will be able to show you how our rugby's improved!!!
Our first round of games will take place in a tournament in Gent this Saturday. All supporters are welcome, there will be booze and food provided by the home team! The games start at 11.30.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR THE PLAYERS!
Meeting at La Fontaine, corner of Rue Archimede and Rue Franklin, Schuman AT 10.00 SHARP, please. Could the drivers please let me know if they are able to give lifts? Pat promised under a serious threat that he won't let us down and our car will be available to take at least two players (not incuding me). Eva and Heidi: could you please let me know if you are goingstraight there or will you meet with us?
The players confirmed for the game are:
Lilly, Emma, Nicky, Gabbie, Pamela, Marcella, Cher, Eva, Tess, Claire
Could we please have a short meeting after training tomorrow night in the bar and have a chat about the team? As we have so many new players it would be helpfull for me as a virgin captain to discuss which positions you love or hate...:-)
See you then tomorrow night for a serious practice before we face and BEAT Kituro and the like, take care girls,
Tess
Have you ever wondered what rugby is all about?
Well, now's your chance to learn. Brussels Barbarians Ladies are looking for new players of all abilities, which means never seen an oval shaped ball to star, international player. It's a fun thing with a serious side and great social events. Training is on Tuesdays 19.30 and Thursdays 19.00 at the British School in Tervuren.

Dear all,
Lot's of things to sort out. Please put dates in your diaries and reply to
me as soon as possible on my questions.
First of all, well done to all those who went to the SHAPE match. We had
only 6 BBRFC players plus the superb Cher, 3 Gent girls, and had to borrow 5
SHAPE players, two of whom were complete beginners. Despite this hotchpotch
team, we still beat SHAPE/Mons convincingly. It's disappointing that for the
League score, we had to register a 25-0 loss because we didn't have enough
players.
20 April, we are hosting the Bok and Dragon 10s
(mixed tournament). I sounded out Gent and SHAPE a while back and they
indicated they would be interested in coming along. So we would play one
friendly match at the tournament. Please make yourselves available. It
should be a fun day.
April 27 is the Women's Championship final. It might be fun to go and watch.
I don't think we'll be playing somehow...
Starting May 10 is the Amsterdam sevens. Sharon, Sandra (maybe Pamela?) have
said they are interested in going. Mons have told me they have 10 interested
in going. Can people let me know by the end of this week if they are
interested? I need to decide how many players to register.
Finally, on 8/9 June a French team has asked to come and play us. I have
said "yes" provisionally. It will be fun to receive a visiting team. I hope
we could get SHAPE and, of course, Gent along to make sure we have enough
players. The team is apparently a social side like us - not too serious or
good...
