However the windscreen was also damaged showing what happens when you stop suddenly and not wearing a seatbelt.
We used a jack to try and straighten the tie rod and to get both wheels facing the same direction, which considering the limited tools with us we managed it.
The bumper had to be tied back too as it was interfering with the steering, but fortunately we were running again.
