Dubai to Muscat
We set off fairly late, around 10.00 am after picking Dave up from the Dubai Intercontinental Hotel, and headed straight for the Oman border at Hatta.
Exit procedures for Dave (who does not have a UAE residence visa) was fairly straightforward and we continued to the Omani section about another 20 km down the road.
There we met Colin, Judy and another guy who would be joining us the following day at Mintirib, also driving a Disco.
Passport control was not too difficult but with it being Ramadan an added bit of chaos thrown in. The customs part was practically non-existent, nobody looked at anything and we were through in a couple of minutes.
We carried on towards Muscat at a leisurely pace stopping briefly for lunch off the road arriving at my friend Steve’s house around 3.00 pm, just in time for the first drink of the day and certainly not the last.
