Oman Fossil Trip

One of my friends, Debbie, is leaving Oman after four years, her husband left about 6 months ago to work on their house back in UK, and both will meet again next week for a two month trip to Nepal. As a sort of farewell trip I joined Debbie and four of her colleagues from Sultan Qaboos University on a three day off road adventure south of Muscat in Oman.

After a delayed start, we covered around 300 Km in darkness to a place called Ghaba where we filled up with petrol for the next day's journey, then headed off road to camp around 5 Km from the last piece of blacktop.

Having just returned from France around 1 am that morning followed by a couple of meetings in Dubai before driving down to Muscat, I was kinda knackered!

The following morning around 6 am we were up and about as the sun rose
