WAHIBA SANDS DAY 2

We arose at sunrise, having had one of these sleeps governed by tiredness after a long drive and some good post prandial beverages.

The tent was wet with condensation as were the vehicles and everything outside. This is the ecosystem of this particular desert, similar to the Namib Desert in Namibia, SW Africa.

After breakfast we set off to reach a major confluence point N22 00 000, E59 00 000 and record our presence for posterity.

With Dave on point and the Super Snark on the tail we now had to cross several ridges to the next valley and repeat this many times in order to reach our objective which as the crow flies was only 35 km away from our camp.

We came across what appeared to be a difficult slope to tackle, which the Super Snark breezed up with no problem. Dave tried to find an alternative route resulting in getting stuck in small bowl. Wong and I watching from the valley decided to try Ian's route and succeeded.

After Dave was recovered he joined us with Paul following behind.
