Killian and Monica’s Tent
The next morning I awoke to find Killian & Monica’s tent rather flat looking with some lumps. Fortunately they were not inside any longer, having moved to the comfort of their Prado to sleep. Stefan had now resurrected the fire, it was a chilly 15C, and we all went about making breakfast. I had planned an easy day today, and we would be staying at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Nizwa, which had been booked by Ruba.

After packing up we descended on now a sealed road down towards Al Hamra. Shaun and his two boys left us and drove up to the top of Jebel Shams, and from then back to Dubai, whilst we continued to have a look at the Hoota Caves, which have been recently turned into a tourist attraction. I have to say at AED55 per person (about 5 Euro) and with a small train not functioning (apparently for the last 6 months) it was a bit of a rip-off, especially as no photos were allowed.
