Detailed description:

Ever since Jonathan Archer was a boy he dreamed about being a captain and in the 22nd Century, he is the first ever Starfleet captain, and he is in command of the very first starship, the Enterprise NX-01. He has a grudge against Vulcans because he blames the Vulcans for delaying the progress of the humanity aboard the Enterprise.

His science officer and First Officer is a Vulcan, and he tries to reconsider those preconceptions about how Vulcans see humans as illogical and primitive. Jonathan Archer  has a strong sense of duty, he is not afraid to question his orders or even disobey them if he feels in his gut that his decisions are right.

Captain Archer has followed the construction of the Enterprise and he is convinced Starfleet to continue with her launch even when the Vulcans feel that the humans are not ready to explore space. Because he is the first ever Starfleet Captain, he knows that his Captain's Logs will be essential for future captains, so he makes the logs to be detailed, personal, and humorous.

Archer feels that T'Pol represents the worst arrogance of the Vulcans, ever since she question his order to go on the Broken Bow mission, in time he will come to rely on her interstellar experience and even appreciate her wary humor. There will be a lot of obstacles to one another but they develop a unique human/Vulcan relationship that is rather unorthodox at this time.
