The following is a collection of short tales and stories depicting the courage, bravery, and personal sacrifices of some graduates of the Philippine Military Academy. These are topics which many will find interesting to read about and also learn from. And these are presented here to acknowledge and recognize the many fine and desirable traits of our alumni. It is hoped that their fine deeds and achievements will serve as an inspiration to others and most especially the youth of today.

  • "Sheryl Uy-Cabasan's Personal Battle" - A story of a tragic and an unfortunate accident that changed the course of Sheryl's ambition to become a military professional just a few weeks after leaving the Academy in 1997 as one of its first 7 female graduates.

  • "The Romel G. Palis Story" - Romel, a 1985 graduate of the Academy, narrates an unfortunate incident that almost cost him his life and which left him wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life. The short and human-interest experience tells us of his struggle for survival, how he embarked on a new career, his search for happiness and a better life in America where he followed and joined the woman he loves. Romel's story comes in two parts:

  • "Recepients of The Medal of Valor " - Relates acts of courage and bravery above and beyond the call of duty on the part of nine Academy graduates who were awarded the Medal of Valor which is the highest individual military award in the Armed Forces of the Philippines:

  • "The PMAyer Who Became a Priest" - A unique, moving, and spiritually charged tale about Fr. Gregory "Greg" Hembrador Ramos, who graduated from the Academy in 1981, rendered service in the Philippine Army, and then surprisingly decided to enter the seminary and became a Catholic priest.

  • "Flying High" - An unforgettable experience that changed the life of Alex G.L. Quirante, a pilot in the Philippine Air Force and a 1972 graduate of the Academy who was involved in the tragic crash of a light aircraft he piloted which left him severely burned.

NOTE: If you are a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy and have a unique story of courage and sacrifice to share, kindly communicate with the HAWAIIAN WEBMASTER who would be most interested to post your story in this Webpage.
