About Me....

I'm 38, married to Caroline and we have a son named Jamie.  We have lived in Arncroach for nearly 8 years but my roots do not originate in Scotland.  I was born in Leicester in England in 1966 which was a good year for the England football team!  I joined the Royal Air Force in 1983 and over the next 12 years I travelled to many countries.  I eventually ended up at RAF Leuchars in Fife which was my last posting before I left the services.  It was at this time that I met Caroline and we married 3 years later in Florida.

My Interests.....

I am a long distance Leicester City FC fan and have followed them since I was a 'wee nipper', they play in the Championship division and this year they will be playing at the new 'Walkers Stadium'which looks fantastic. (You can see a virtual tour at the Foxes website) Click on the 'Foxes' motif to find out more about the club at it's website.  I am also a Leicester 'Tigers' Rugby Union fan which is one of the most successful club teams in the UK. They are the club champions and the team is full of international team members.  (Click on the 'Tigers' motif to find out more about the club at it's website).  I currently work in Dundee at a 'Waste to Energy' Plant called DERL where I am a Maintenance Technician.  Previously I have worked in a treatment plant that produces telegraph poles and also was the Engineering Manager for a Refrigerator Recycling Plant in Perth.

When I was in the RAF I was able to do a few recreational sports such as Sub-Aqua diving and offshore sailing, the latter proved to be my favorite. I did most of my sailing in the Baltic Sea when I was posted in Germany.  I enjoyed visiting many of the small islands which are part of Denmark and on occasions we would drop in to Sweden and Norway for a wee drink!  I also took part in an expedition to sail a yacht from Troon (located on the west coast of Scotland) to the German town of Keil. We sailed through the Caledonian Canal up to Inverness then out into the North Sea. Once across the North Sea we went through the impressive Keil Canal which connects to the Baltic Sea. During my time in the Royal Air Force I have worked on various aircraft from different countries. I served in the middle east during the Gulf War and also in Northern Turkey after the war had finished and NATO was policing Iraqi airspace.  I have made some good friends which I still keep in contact with.  I have also been lucky to visit most of Europe and sample its beer and hospitality. Below is a selection of photos of my visits and military aircraft.
