Why Was It Never Found?
(3) Mark 16:9: "Now when Jesus
was risen, early on the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, He
appeared first to Mary Magdalene,
out of whom He had cast seven devils."
There has been
no place thus far where God has told us to keep the 1st day of the week
for any purpose whatsoever. He doesn't say it's the Christian Sabbath,
He doesn't say that the 7th Day Sabbath has been nailed to the cross and
now we keep Sunday in honor of the Resurrection. These are only statements
that men have added to God's Word and it's dangerous business to add to
God's Word. Proverbs 30:6
says, "Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found
a liar." Deuteronomy 4:2
says, "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall
ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD
your God which I command you." We are not to add to God's word or take
from it. Then if God's word doesn't tell us to keep the 1st day of the
week for any purpose whatsoever, then we'd better be very careful what
we're doing.
