My
Awards (After reading the nominations)
Worst
Title:
"Target
Stars On Ice." Like Osama needs directions. Oh wait, there's no colon
in
there.
Biggest
Question
Marks: "Alias"
gets 11 nods, but not one for best drama. "Curb You Enthusiasm" gets
two.
One for best comedy. Huh?
Must
Feel Like
Sh-t: (tie)
Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox, Eric McCormack. All the
other
leads on their respective series got nods. Ouch. And McCormack won last
year. Double ouch.
BIG
Disappointment:
Stockard
Channing's nod for "The Matthew Shepard Story." I told you. I told you.
After I watched this horrible tv movie back in March, I told you she'd
get a nomination. And I also told you I'd be deeply disappointed if she
did. She did and I am.
How
could they:
How
could they nominate Ryan Stiles & Wayne Brady for "Whose Line?" and
not Colin Mocherie? He and Ryan are a team, indivisible.
Emmy
Pets No
Longer: (tie)
"ER" (4 nominations); "The Practice" (2); "Ally McBeal;" "NYPD Blue" (1
each). The voters have finally listened to the viewers. None of these
shows
got nominations in the acting nor best series categories.
Biggest
Drama
Breakthroughs: "Six
Feet Under" (23 nods); "Alias" (11 nods); "24" (10); "Buffy" (4). "Six"
cleaned up, "Alias" was number 3 on the list. And even though "Buffy"
didn't
get any acting/writing nominations, at least there is something.
Biggest
Comedy
Breakthrough: "Friends"
and "Everybody Loves Raymond" (11 each). While "Raymond" is by far the
better show, these two series really deserved it.
LMAO
Nominations:
"Wolf
Lake" (2); "Emeril" (1); "First Monday" (1). Three of the worst, most
forgettable
series of last season shared 4 nominations among them. So what, they
were
all in categories like "Outstanding Title Design," but still.
My
Predictions
Were Right!: "Everybody
Loves Raymond" aired 24 episodes last season. They were all
outstanding.
I picked "The Angry Family" and "Marie's Sculpture" as the ones to get
nods for best writing. And they did.
Nomination
Hogs:
"24"
had 40% of Fox's nominations. "Alias" 32% of ABC's. Considering
that
"Six Feet Under" only had 24% of HBO's nominations, something rotten is
going down at Fox and ABC.
