The
Big Winners CBS Thursday: With "Friends" out of the way, CBS opened a huge lead on Thursday, with "Survivor" (5th in viewers. 7th in adults), "CSI" (1/2), and "Without A Trace" (4/8) all ranking within the top 5 and the last two posting huge increased in both measures. With NBC not able to find its footing on the night, it can only get better for CBS. Desparate Housewives: So rare is it for a series to break out right after its premiere that you have to look back to "Survivor" and then to "Roseanne" to find an example of what this series has done. Ranking 1st in adults and 2nd in viewers, it almost single handedly launched ABC into second on the season. CBS Miami: While it had a fantastic season last year, it completely broke out this season so far. That was completely evident during November sweeps where it ranked 3rd in viewers and 4th in viewers, up more than 20% in both measures. The Amazing Race: CBS was going to dump the series on Saturdays, but after a strong summer performance, it decided that a Tuesday birth would be better. And what a performance. The show ranked 29th in viewers and 21st in adults in November, helping CBS to win the night in viewers and make it alot more competitive in adults CBS: This like is doninated by ABC and CBS, but unlike the alphabet network, the eye actually won sweeps, and won big in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the first time since 1980. It's already got February and May sweeps wrapped up, as well. Law & Order: SVU: While all the press has been focused on the decline of the "Law & Order" franchise, slowly and quitely, "SVU" has become the best and highest rated of the triplets. Ranking 15th in viewers and 13th in adults, it's up 14% in viewers and 15% in adults, far outranking its compadres by 5 spots in viewers and 10 in adults. WB Tuesday: While the rest of the WB is not doing so well, the WB's Tuesday line-up is rocking. "Gilmore Girls" ranked 80th in viewers in November, up 36% over last November, and 63rd in adults, up 32%. As for "One Tree Hill," it's slowed down slightly after a hot start to the season, ranking 89th in viewers, up 35% and 85th in adults, up 36%. Navy NCIS: The sophmore series had done something quite impressive: it's not only winning it's timeslot in viewers, but it's coing in a very close second in adults (and actually took it in the last week of sweeps. Lost: Who knew that this show would be a hit? I certainly didn't, but during November, it ranked 10th in viewers and 11th in adults, and may just become the first new lead-off show to premiere in September to rank in the top 10 in over a decade. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition: It's hard to believe that this series was drawing just 10mil viewers only 7 months ago. But it's taking good advantage of it's "Desparate" lead-out, ranking 6th in viewers during November and 5th in adults. |
