Saturday
8pm
The most exciting hour of
the most
exciting day of the week got a little more exciting when "star Search"
moved into the hour. The CBS smash hit.... ah, screw this. Nothing
really
worked in the hour, okay? Well, "Cops" (103, 86) did what it usually
does,
"48 Hours" (76) started out the season for CBS, but was replaced with
"Star
Search," which did identical numbers, while ABC went with a movie (96)
that really didn't go anywhere, ditto for NBC (105). NBC did try out
"Tracey
Morgan" in the hour for a few weeks, and while it ranked 110th on the
season,
it failed to crack 4mil viewers on the night.
Winner: Fox
Loser: Tracey
Morgan (NBC)
9pm
Just like 8pm, 9pm was
the bastion
of excitement..... ABC and NBC continued with their respective movies
(though
NBC's was more often than not repeats of various programs), CBS went
with
"Hack" (75), and Fox with "America's Most Wanted" (86).
Winner: Nothing
Loser: Everything
10pm
There were a few
different program
tried out in the hour, led by the now canned "The District" (61), but
even
that was usually beat out by repeats of "Law & Order: SVU." ABC
started
out the season with "LA's Dragnet" (124), but quickly pulled that in
favor
of repeats of "The Monk" (116), but quickly pulled that in favor of an
extra hour of movie.
Winner: Law
& Order: SVU (R) (NBC)
Loser: ABC
