Well, we we're too far off in our fall schedule predictions: we were on another planet. But we did hit some on the head- here are our proudest accompishments.
Dharma & Greg- When ABC signed a renewal deal with clause stipulating that if "D&G" got moved out of "Frasier"s lime-light ABC would pay less money, we knew there was something to it. We also knew that ABC was drastically scaling back "Millionaire." "Dharma" seemed like a natural move back to 8pm- it spend its first two seasons there. And this is tops on our list because nobody else predicted it.
"The Family Guy"- Fox brings "Family" back to the schedule after a year long hiatus. Sure we read about it on another web site, but we knew that Fox would want to eliminate its underperforming Thursday night movie. Although "Family" bombed on Thursdays 3 seasons ago, we also knew that Fox is not one to learn from its mistakes. Score 2 for us.
"Once & Again"- No, we didn't get the timeslot right (we predicted 9pm), but we did say that the on-the-bubble "O&A" would come back to ABC next fall. Why? ABC has called it a signature series, and its an advertizer gold-mine. Plus, with Sela Ward winning the Golden Globe and TV Guide calling it "The Best Show You're Not Watching," ABC would look like a fool for cancelling it. Score 3 for us.
"That's Life"- Another show who's timeslot we didn't nail (we predicted Saturdays at 8pm), but we did say that it would be renewed when nobody else had faith. Though it didn't do gangbuster ratings on Saturday, it was stable throughout the season, going from 7.5 to 8.5 million. The show also has a rabid fan base that will seek it out no matter where it airs. What's the count up to now?
"Touched By An Angel"- Nobody else predicted a move off Sundays for this fading series- but we did. Though we did say Wednesdays, we'll settle for Saturdays.
