Edward’s trial continues with Lee testifying. Edward makes a scene in the courtroom and collapses due to the stress. AJ, Jason, Ned all surround their grandfather and he is taken home to rest.

11/24 Thanksgiving in PC. Lila makes the Qs turn off the football game so they can discuss their blessings. When they all recite their “blessings”, she wishes she had not brought it up. Lucy asks the PC Grill to “dispatch” her duck. When Carl and the staff refuse, she vows to take her complaint to Edward. Lucy arrives with her duck at the Qs. Lucy only makes things worse as she ponders what to do with the duck. Annabelle enjoys the Q’s turkey dinner while they argue. Lila reins them in. The Qs are forced to order pizza.

11/30 Jason is not happy to hear AJ ask Keisha out to dinner. Keisha wants to visit Edward in the hospital.

12/5 Jason and Keisha visit Edward in the hospital. He's less than thrilled when he sees of her. They get right to it when Edward asks Keisha if she thinks he is a murderer. Keisha tells him she doesn't know him, but has faith in Mary Mae's high opinion of him. They strike a tentative peace.  Edward chases Jason from the room; he wants to talk to Keisha alone. Edward tells her that he likes her very much but feels that an intimate relationship with Jason would be a mistake.  She assumes it's because she's black, but Edward tells her that's not the reason. He says there's bad blood between the Wards and the Qs and it is in her and Jason's best interest. Keisha says that she and Jason shouldn't be blamed for something that happened 20 years ago.

12/14 Brenda tells AJ and Jason that Ned blew his reconciliation with Lois by trying to buy Sonny out. She tells them about what went down in Puerto Rico. They give her a big fat I told you so but Brenda tells them that Sonny told Rivera and company to take a hike. Talk turns to Lois and Brenda warns AJ to stay away from Lois.

12/15 All the Qs plan to support Edward in court today. Myrna Slaughter takes the stand at Edward’s trial. She verifies Jack’s connection to Frank Smith and what happened the night Bradley was killed. Jack Bolend stole a gun from Edward and killed Bradley. The prosecution scrambles to debunk Myrna’s testimony with a little character assassination. Mary Mae comes to Edward’s defense standing up in court demanding to tell why she knows that Edward did not kill Bradley.

12/16 The judge in Edward’s trial calls a recess wanting to speak to Mary Mae in chambers. Mary Mae takes the stand and recounts her years as a blues club singer where she met a young sailor. They grew close and became lovers, but he was shipped overseas. They corresponded for a while, then she discovered she was pregnant and sent him a letter explaining she didn't expect anything from him.  He wrote that he would offer any help he could, but she didn't answer the letter, though she kept it.  She raised the child, Bradley, herself telling no one who the father really was. The man was Edward. The next time she saw him was the night of Bradley's murder. The defense and the prosecution give their closing arguments. The judge gives instructions to the jury.

12/19 The press is all over the Qs and the Wards as they leave the courtroom. The Wards join the Qs for tea. Lila thanks Mary Mae for her testimony. Justus has some questions for Edward. He believes that the jury could still come back with a guilty verdict against him.

12/20 The Qs ponder the fact that Justus does not seem thrilled at all to find out he is related to them. Justus admits to Mary Mae that it does not sit well with him. They joke around but admit the Qs were gracious. Mary Mae is still very wary of Jason and Keisha’s relationship. Lila does not care about Edward’s 50-year old affair but the fact that he did not say anything is a disappointment to her.

12/21-12/22 The Qs celebrate Edward’s not guilty verdict. Reginald pops the champagne. Brenda, Ned, AJ, Jason, Alan, and Lila all toast to the good news. Brenda promises she will be back the next day for Christmas.

12/23 At GH, Steve reads the Christmas Story. Back at the Q manor, Alan and the boys argue over the electric train setup. Keisha and Justus arrive at the Q's. Lois tells Ned off in front of the entire family and storms out. Cue the Christmas montage as various PCers are shown celebrating.

12/27 Keisha asks how Justus is doing with the fact that Edward is his grandpa. Simone interrupts them, saying she has a problem for Justus. The problem is lack of campaign funds. Simone tells him that a sure way to fix it lies with Edward. Justus tells her his soul is not for sale. Keisha is back, working with Jason. She invites him to the Ward’s Kwanza feast and tells him that the rest of the Q's will be invited too.

12/28 Brenda asks Jason and AJ to help her with her suitcases as she is moving in with Sonny. Brenda is defending Sonny to Jason and AJ.  She insists that Sonny is now legitimate and tells them that she loves Sonny and they are just jealous because they don't have love lives. (Note: News-report interrupts the scene: 2 minutes lost)

12/30 The Ward family hosts a Kwanzaa feast, Edward arrives and is politely greeted by the Wards and the Spencers, followed by Jason & Keesha. Justus begins the ceremony, followed by Mary Mae, and then Keesha. Mary Mae leads everyone in singing, “Oh Happy Day”, everyone dances and then they feast. Keesha and Mary Mae give Edward a handmade Kwanza mumu. He is speechless.

1/3 Annabelle, who is waiting in the car with Jason while Lila visits Ward house, escapes and runs off with Foster. Cute Annabelle & Foster doggy love montage. Jason tells Lila and Lucky that the dogs got away from him, he found them at the park, but he was too late as he caught them in the act. Lila suggests they not mention it to Edward.

Monica says goodbye to her family as she leaves for cancer treatment in Arizona.

1/5 -1/6 Election day is a busy day at Justus’s campaign headquarters. Justus wins his bid for City Council. Jason and AJ argue over the Q’s plans for Charles Street. Alan breaks them up. 1/12 As a concerned grandson, Jason forces Edward to work out in the Q gym and Ned joins them (Jason is looking quite buff in his sleeveless workout shirt!). Jason and Ned have some questions about the Charles Street Development Foundation. Ned thinks the weak link is AJ. Justus calls Edward and wants AJ out and Jason in as he is the one with the real interest in the community. Edward tells him no way that Jason has no business background and he is busy with college. He cuts him off and hangs up.

1/13 Edward tells AJ about Justus’s suggestion and Edward wants to add Jason to the Charles Street Foundation board. AJ is strongly opposed while Edward points out that Jason has a very strong connection to the community and he would be a great person to provide public relations for the company. AJ has objections but Edward already has made up his mind. Jason accepts a spot on the board.

Justus tells Keesha that AJ rubs him the wrong way and he does not trust him. Keesha does not think that Justus should dismiss AJ so fast. Later, Jason tells Keesha that he is happy to be on the board, but he ruffled feathers again in his family. Keesha calls a meeting between Jason, Edward, and AJ.

1/16 -1/17 Keesha tries to convince AJ and Jason that they are on the same side. She does not want the foundation to have to choose between the two of them. Later, AJ and Jason argue but come to an understanding. Mary Mae worries about Keisha placing herself in between Jason and AJ.

1/18 The new Charles Street Board meet for the first time and discuss their goals. (Note: News brief interruption: 2-3 minutes lost) AJ and Jason disagree about the goals of the foundation.

1/20 Jason overhears AJ whine to Edward about Jason undercutting him in front of the Charles Street board. They go at it as Jason accuses AJ of making things personal. Alan hears the boys arguing and thinks Edward is promoting a rivalry between the boys.

2/14 Valentines Day. Cute scenes as Ned and Jason give Lila Valentine’s candy. Edward enters with a huge box of candy. When Foster shows up to see his lady, Edward yells at him to leave. Lila defends that its Valentine’s Day. Edward threatens to turn Foster into dog meat and shoes him away. Lila tells him that he ruined the mood of the day. At the Outback, Jason and Keisha exchange gifts, he tells her he wants to show her the world. Miguel sings for the patrons and the Valentine’s Day couple montage.

2/28 The Q’s throw a dinner to officially welcome Lois. AJ puts Ned on the spot by asking him when Ned plans on returning to ELQ. When Ned delays giving an answer saying he will discuss it with Lois privately and not at the dinner table, Edward about blows a gasket. Lois and Edward get into a fight at the dinner table about the music world being a far cry from the real world. Edward insists that Ned is a star in the business world. Lois takes it as a dig towards her, she asks, “You mean until I came along?”

They are soon joined by Roibn, Stone, and Miguel and they share the good news about receiving the matching Federal money. AJ invites Robin to join their team. Robin turns it down as she has other plans for the summer (Stone has been diagnoised with AIDS but no one knows yet). Stone talks her into doing it, pointing out that he will be working at Luke’s and it would be good experience for her.

6/14 AJ suggests to Jason that they double date to the Nurse’s Ball. He then informs him that Lily is AJ’s date. Jason can’t believe AJ is causing trouble yet again.

Robin & Stone, AJ & Lily, Monica & Alan, Miguel, Jason & Keisha discuss the Aids cause at their table. AJ makes a comment about how much money and resources is being put into AIDS research when there are so many other diseases that also need the funding. AJ then says that only idiots get AIDS these days as people know how to protect themselves. He goes onto say that the only people who get AIDS are drug users, gays, and idiots. Stone asks if Ryan White was an idiot (he was a child who died from AIDS after a transfusion)? AJ points out that blood products are now tested. He questions when did Stone become such an expert about AIDS? Stone movingly admits that he since he learned he has AIDS. The table falls into silence.

6/22 Nurse’s Ball continues. Stone tells AJ that he has AIDS so excuse him if he finds it difficult to be objective on the subject. He wants the funding to continue so perhaps someday the dying will stop. After Stone leaves, AJ says he didn’t know Stone was gay? Alan says he isn’t. AJ questions then he was a drug user? Jason can’t believe his brother and begs him, “For God’s sake!”. AJ goes onto worry about Robin and her health.

An emotional Stone tells Robin that this isn’t contained anymore. He knows that he has to tell Ned and Lois about his AIDS diagnosis before they hear it from someone else. Robin sits down with Sonny and Brenda and tells them that Stone has to tell N&L due to AJ’s big mouth. Miguel says that he has just learned a friend has AIDs and how important it is to find a cure for AIDS. Miguel sings, “Power to Believe”. Steve and Tom Jr. perform “Casey at the Bat”. Lucy and Damian do a number from “Annie Get Your Gun”.

John tells Lucy that they are $12,000 behind last year’s total. To make up the difference from Katherine’s scheming to sabotage her, Lucy is forced to perform a striptease and auction off her clothes to the citizens of PC. The Chorus Line number ends the show.

6/27 Jason shows up at Sonny’s door, asking to see Stone. Sonny doesn’t think that is a good idea, he mentions that he has never seen Jason visit him before. Sonny thinks that Jason is there to give Stone grief about having AIDS. Jason suggests before Sonny judges him that perhaps he hears him out. Stone comes out and says he would like to hear as well and invites Jason in. Jason is curious if Sonny is always that uptight. Jason says that he admires how much courage it took for Stone last night. He apologizes for his brother’s behavior. Stone says that know it is out in the open it is a bit of a relief. Stone tells him that Alan is a great guy.

Jason asks if Stone would like to be his workout partner at the Q gym, they have a state of the art gym and he can’t get any of the Q’s “lazy butts” to work out and he has been looking for a workout partner. He suggests they begin that day. After Jason leaves, Stone leans against the door in relief at this welcome from such an unexpected source.

6/28 Jason arranges a picnic at the Q boathouse for his friends. He invites Emily, who in turn invites Lucky, then he invites Brenda, Miguel, and Lois to the picnic. Miguel joins Stone, AJ, and Jason for a workout. Stone is spotting AJ as he is lifting, when a drop of Stone’s sweat falls onto AJ’s face, he freaks out and grabs a towel. Jason warns his brother that he can’t get AIDS from sweat.

The picnic gets into full swing. Miguel and Brenda dancing on the edge of the lake fall into together just as Sonny arrives. Sonny makes a crack about it not being a wet shirt contest and he and Brenda argue.

7/3 Ned congratulates AJ and Jason on their success with the foundation. AJ and Jason decide to hold a press conference to announce the grant approval.

7/4 Fourth of July in the PC park. Reginald gathers the picnic baskets for the Q’s and loads down Ned, Jason, ect. At the park, Jason & Keisha, Lily and AJ hang out together. PC residents read lines of the Declaration of Independence and enjoy the fireworks.

7/5 Robin and Keisha talk about Mac’s reaction to Stone’s diagnosis, she tells Keisha that Mac actually yelled at Stone. Keisha assures her that they are completely behind her and Stone. The Qs and Wards hold a press conference at the foundation. AJ gets high marks for a job well done.

7/7 Tom Hardy tells AJ and Keisha that the way AJ obtained the matching Federal grant money is illegal and shows them a letter complaining about the impropriety. Edward, Ned, Jason learn that matching grant funds are illegal due to the inflationary costs that they paid for the land. Justus is furious about how unethical this is and wants to know what Edward is going to do about it. Edward wants AJ’s resignation from the foundation. The Qs argue about the foundation mess. Emily is freaked out at all the arguing. Monica tries to explain to her.

7/13 The Wards and the Qs meet for damage control over the newspaper headline. Edward is peeved as Ned is out of town on Idle Rich promotion. AJ comes clean with Katherine’s initial point in the right direction on the grant but the Qs do not know how she could be involved. AJ offers to resign. Keisha apologizes to the board and to AJ for not catching it. Justus also steps up and takes responsibility for not checking the figures and flagging it himself as he also had the opportunity to stop this. Justus says if anyone is going to be a scapegoat that it should be him. Edward says everyone can’t resign, they will look like idiots. Justus suggests they make a frank admission and take responsibility for the mistake. Edward wants to call a press conference tomorrow.

7/20 The press is all over the Charles Street Foundation office. Keisha is having a hard time with all the negative publicity.

7/21 Lucy pops into the Quartermaine mansion to forgive them all for anything they have done to her, Alan, Edward, and AJ for staring at her legs throughout board meetings (LOL!). For Jason, she tells him she forgives him for not spending enough time with her. She is surprised he is even part of this family but then observes it was probably punishment for something bad he did in a past life.

8/1 -8/1 AJ is eager to get the foundation back on track. He and Keisha pick four new candidates for loans. Keisha helps AJ from feeling the pressure to drink due to stress. She suggests an AA meeting. Jason sees them together and is mad that AJ is dragging Keisha into his self-pity routine. Keisha and Jason argue. Later, Jason explains AJ’s drinking to Keisha.

8/3 Luke gives Robin and Stone some advice, not to slam doors in Robin’s face as she is doing everything she can to help him. He advises Robin that Stone does not need a mother right now and she doesn’t have to try so hard to take care of him. Jason comes in and asks Luke to sponsor a team for the PC AIDS walk.

8/4 Brenda and Miguel are giggling together at the AIDS Walk in the park. After seeing Brenda and Miguel together, he is sure they are together now and he is obviously not happy about it. Robin questions Brenda about her relationship with Miguel. Felicia wants Mac to make an effort to be friendly with Stone, but Mac blames Robin delaying Yale on him. Felicia thinks Jason could maybe get through to Robin about the value of a great education.

Keisha and Jason are making out in the park at the Aids Walk. Felicia interrupts them and teases them that it is not a kissing-thon. Felicia tells Jason that Robin has delayed her admission to Yale and she suggests that maybe someone Robin trusts can get through to her. Jason says he would probably make the same decision, but Felicia says if he talks to Robin that it could save her an ugly scene with Mac about the topic.

Jason approaches Robin and says he heard she is delaying going to Yale. She is irritated that Mac has blabbed. He says no, it was Felicia. She says if she goes to Yale and Stone doesn’t make it till Spring that she will never forgive herself. He understands where she is coming from, she asks if he could talk to Mac for her. He says that message would be best heard coming from her. On their way out, Jason pulls Keisha aside to make out some more. Stone tells them they will have to cool off in the pool if they don’t cut it out. Stone sees the look on Robin’s face and figures it was Mac. Jason suggests that they all come over to swim in the Q pool.

Two bigots talk about the AIDS people taking over the park and one woman says she wishes that they would get the dying over with already as they deserve getting AIDS. AJ, Jason, Keisha, and Robin listen in on the exchange. Stone calmly asks the woman what he did to deserve AIDS? She is quiet for a moment and then says its god’s punishment for perverted behavior. Stone says that he was taught that God loved him, and how did the children who got AIDS prevert God’s love? He asks if she knows anyone who has AIDS and when she says no, he tells her that she has no business making judgements as she doesn’t know what she is talking about. AJ listens in, perhaps learning something about prejudice and ignorance. Jason comments that AJ is looking a little pale. AJ admits that everytime he thinks he has Stone figured out, that he surprises him.

8/7 AJ goes home, irate about the bigotry he experienced at the park. He tells Monica about her rude comments and tells her that he wants to write a letter to Stone. She asks him what about saying face to face. AJ knows he won’t be able to say what he wants in person, he wants to think it out and write out his feelings so he can really express them to Stone. Later, Mike brings AJ’s letter to Stone. Robin reads AJ’s letter to him.

“Dear Stone, Your probably wondering why I’m writing this instead of simply saying what I have to say to your face. But this isn’t easy for me and I’m afraid if I try to explain I’ll screw it up, I do that sometimes. Something happened to me at the AIDS Walk that took me by surprise, a mirror was held up and I say myself in it and I didn’t like what I saw. That woman represented the most narrow minded, bigoted and prejudiced amoung us yet she was so convinced of her own superiority. When I saw how you handled her and I recognized how very wrong she was about you and AIDS and the way people react out of ignorance, I knew I had some major soul searching to do.

To begin with, I owe you a personal apology for some of the things I have said and done. I also owe you a debt of gratitude for opening my eyes to things. Things are not always what they seem or what we wish them to be, neither are people. Its a lesson I’m learning late but one I won’t forget and if there is one thing I might do to make up for my past behavior is to make you this solemn promise, to recognize and move beyond my own prejudices and not be so quick to rush to judgement. Your very strong Stone, you proved that today when you stood up for yourself. But should you ever find you need someone to stand up with you, you know where to find me. Respectfully yours, Alan Quartermaine Jr.”

8/16 Robin comes into the foundation and tells Jason, Keisha, and AJ that Stone is in the hospital and he is going to be there awhile. She tells them that Stone has CMV and is going blind. She asks them to do her a favor, she is trying to stay really positive for Stone’s sake. She wants to just try to find the joy in the time they have. She asks them not to say anything at all as she tries to talk about it, she will start crying and she is afraid she won’t be able to stop. Robin thanks AJ for the letter he wrote to Stone and tells them that it renewed Stone’s faith. Jason asks about what letter? Jason looks at him in shock, Robin shares that it meant a lot to him and it gave her an idea. Robin wants to put together a memory book for Stone made by all of his friends to express how they feel about him. She wants him to feel like his life meant something. Jason says just try to stop them! Keisha agrees it is a great idea.

Jason visits Stone and Sonny at GH. Jason is encouraging about new drugs to treat CMV. Stone says that the new meds are still in research and he can’t get access to them as they have to test them for another 10-20 years. Back the Q’s they argue over the air conditioner, Jason wanting them to turn the a/c down for environmental reasons. Edward scoffs that part of being rich is they can have the a/c on.
