Alan & Monica #6 March 2 - June ?, 1983: 8 hour original edit

Dvd #6A 3/2 Despite Robert's aggravation at Heather's sudden convenient recollection, he agrees to release her on bail. (Note: at the end of the previous edit, Heather lies and says she saw MONICA kill Susan!)

When Jimmy Lee arrives at the Q’s, there are as nice as possible, warm and welcoming. Lila is genuinely happy to have found him and tells him that he is part of this family. Everyone else quickly agrees. He is amused that they are suddenly so welcoming when just a few weeks ago, they didn’t want any part of him. He quickly sees through their good wishes and attempts to make nice.

He knows that they are only being nice to him as they are terrified that he will talk about the night Susan blackmailed them. He agrees he does want to be acknowledged and accepted as a Quartermaine but on his own terms, his own way. He tells them he has something specific in mind and it will cost them, but it won’t be money! Grant returns home and informs the Q's about Jackie's snooping. Later Edward tells Alan and Monica that they have to come up with some way to make Jimmy Lee feel indebted to them so he doesn’t betray them.

3/3 Monica is shaken when Robert visits her at GH. Robert calls Stella to come over and he questions her about the night of the murder. Later, he calls her to come over to talk to him. He asks her about her visit to the cottage shortly before the murder. Monica denies being there, but Stella has already confirmed she finished dinner early that night. Faced with the truth, Monica admits to going to Susan's, but only to plead with her, not to kill her. When Heather is released on bail, she goes to the cottage and bangs out a death threat to Monica on the typewriter. Heather sneaks into the Q house to plant the note, but instead finds a bullet ridden photo of Susan in the basement! What a break!

3/4 Heather disguises her voice and lures Robert to the Q's basement. Monica barges into Heather’s apartment and the two engage in a cat fight. TIffany breaks it up when she starts screaming at the sight of them rolling around on the floor with their fists waving. Monica is furious to learn from Robert that Heather is accusing her of murder. Monica returns home and informs a shocked Alan and Edward that Heather told Robert that she saw Monica kill Susan. The Q house is in chaos with the news, meanwhile Robert is in the cellar and finds the bullet ridden picture. Robert comes in and informs them he is taking his time developing a case building evidence, and then shows them the bullet holes photo.

He warns Monica this tipped the evidence in her favour as the prime suspect. Alan declares he took the shots at it, and states it was used only as a stress reliever. He never intended to shoot her for real. As Robert leaves, he warns them not to leave town! Monica is shaken and collapses into Alan’s arms. They sit around soberly, worried at the seriousness of this accusation.

Burt reports into Robert that Rick said Alan left the hospital early the night of the murder. Robert then learns that Tolliver was in jail the night of the murder.

3/7 Alan and Monica lay in bed together the next morning. Alan encourages her that they have to have their normal routine and not let on that they are spooked. She leans into Alan’s arms and declares that this is the only place she feels safe. She observes he is acting very confident given that he is on the hook of suspicion due to shooting that picture of Susan. Alan states he has an airtight alibi of being at the hospital at the time Susan was murdered.

Robert learns via his computer that Edward’s marriage to Lila is not legal since she was still married to Toliver at the time. Monica goes downstairs and talks to Grant about her concern for Lila. She is concerned that Robert will want to question Lila, and she thinks it would be dangerous for her health. She gives him a skewed version that Lila had an affair with a married man before she married Edward, and his wife found out and committed suicide. Grant agrees that bringing that up could be detrimental to Lila’s health. He agrees that he can prevent the police from questioning Lila due to her health.

Robert is questioning Rick and Steve in the lobby. Alan confirms he checked in at 8:30 pm. Robert whirls around to Rick who confirms Alan left at 8:50 through the basement entrance as he saw him. Alan insists that he checked out at 9:30. Robert knows he left and returned and finally gets Alan to crack. Alan admits that he went to Susan's before the murder, but he left when he heard Susan and Scotty arguing. Robert asks Alan if he knew Crane Toliver was in town. Alan denies knowing anyone by that name. Alan immediately goes to the pay phone and urgently tells Edward that Robert knows about Toliver! Edward warns him not to talk to anyone until he gets to the hospital!

When Monica and Edward arrive, Alan fills them in. Monica warns them to be calm and tries to retrace their steps. She wants to know exactly what he told Scorpio. He admits that he went to Susan’s house that night and observed Susan and Scotty arguing and he did not go in. Monica shares that she also went to Susan’s. She asks Edward if there is anything he hasn’t told them.

Alan questions if Edward was really in the den all night? He insists that he was. They agree to all deny that they know anything about Crane Toliver. Alan moans they have really gotten themselves into a mess this time. Edward suddenly worries about Scorpio getting to Lila and questioning her. Monica pipes up that she has taken care of that by getting Grant to rule (as her orthopaedic surgeon) that Lila can not be questioned due to her fragile health.

Meanwhile, Robert tells Holly that at first he thought Alan was trying to cover for his wife, now he surmises that Monica could be covering for Edward. He believes that Susan was blackmailing them over Toliver and Edward had just as much to lose. He had just as much reason to shoot Susan as the rest of them. Robert declares he needs to question Edward about exactly where he really was the night of her murder.

3/8 Robert calls and warns Edward that he needs to see him right away. Led into a trap by Robert, Edward admits that going to Susan's cottage but insists he was only attempting to talk with her. Shown the match up between Lila and Tolliver on his computer, Edward maintains that his wife was legally divorced even if he can't prove it. Heather goes to see Robert and shows her a black eye she swears she got from Monica. She is once again lying.

Gail stops by to see Monica. She is upset as Lee questioned her if Gail thought Monica was capable of murder. Monica tells her about Heather’s lies. Gail is shocked by Heather’s accusations. After Gail leaves, Edward warns them that Jimmy Lee is talking to Robert right now. Gail stop by and tries to convince Robert that Heather is a pathological liar, as she defends Monica against Heather’s accusations. But Gail is stopped cold when Robert shows her the bullet ridden photo of Susan found in the Q basement. Heather calls Jackie to give her the scoop on the Q's.

Over at Robert’s, he questions Jimmy Lee about whether he knows about Crane Toliver. Jimmy Lee pretends ignorance but promises to think on it. Jimmy Lee calls Edward and tells him that he is ready to deal and they agree to meet in the morning.

3/9 Alan and Monica read the scandalous headline in the morning paper: "WHY HASN'T MONICA QUARTERMAINE BEEN ARRESTED FOR MURDER?" Alan wants to sue the newspaper. Monica hates that idea and warns that would only keep the story in the press for months.

Edward asks Jimmy Lee his price for his silence. Jimmy Lee doesn't want money, he only wants a party! A party to introduce him to all of PC as a Quartermaine. When Tolliver interrupts, Jimmy Lee introduces him as Calvin Brown. When Edward returns home, he tells them they are going to through an elaborate party. Alan is sure that Edward misunderstood what Jimmy Lee wants. Edward tells them that Jimmy Lee wants it to be the biggest social event of the year. Alan realizes he wants to use the party for his own ends. Alan worries to either shame us or betray them in front of their friends at the party. Edward continues that he is demanding everyone of importance in PC is invited, the press notified, and hand written invitations. Having no choice, the Q's begin to prepare for Jimmy Lee's party. Lila wants to invite the mayor, the city council, and that nice man - Robert Scorpio! Edward refuses to extend the hospitality to that man as he tricked him into incriminating himself. Alan and Monica privately ask Edward what he told Scorpio! He admitted that he went to Susan’s the night she was murdered. They are aghast that he lied to them! Edward assures that he made it sound very reasonable and plausible that he was trying to get Susan to drop the blackmail. Meanwhile, Lila chortles on happily planning the party. Monica worries that Lila will be planning a very larger farewell party for HER!

Alan and Monica arrive at the hospital and Amy nervously tries to hide the morning paper. Jesse steps up and tells them she thought the article in the paper was horrible and she supports them. Later an upset Monica runs into Alan’s office. She protests that the whole hospital and whispering behind her back about the allegations. He tries to reassure her that it is just her imagination. She tells him that four of her patients cancelled! Alan supports her 100% and tells her it is time for the Quartermaines to start slinging a little mud of their own! Against hospital procedure, Monica holds an impromptu press conference denying any truth to the rumors from the PC Herald slandering her with murder accusations. She turns the tables on Heather calling her a pathological liar.

3/10 Alan and Monica deal with the aftermath of her comments about Heather as the headlines the next morning continue the story and her press conference does not seem to help her.  Alan encourages her that the newspaper reported that Heather is still the prime suspect. Alan warns her again not to show anyone that she is rattled. Edward comes in and encourages her to hold her head up high.

Robert questions Jimmy Lee to his connection with Susan. Remaining cool, Jimmy Lee admits Susan wanted him to ruin the Q's and he refused. Later, Holt admits to Edward, and Alan that Robert has linked Tolliver to Susan. He assures them that he didn’t tell him but someone did. Edward shows Jimmy Lee the handwritten invitation that Lila has had created. After Jimmy Lee leaves, Edward is surprisingly confident that Robert won’t find Lila’s unsigned divorce papers. Edward does warn them that those papers could blow this family sky high. Edward thinks Tolliver had the papers all those years and that he gave them to Susan that night. When Robert arrives at the Q’s, Edward complains, “Oh what does Dick Tracy want know?” Robert drops the bombshell that Tolliver was in on the blackmail against them. He wants them to admit that Crane Toliver was using Susan to blackmail them.

3/11 They all tell him the accusation is preposterous and of course deny it. Robert questions if he knew that Lila wasn’t divorce? A ruffled Edward demands that Robert stop saying that and insists that they were divorced. Alan quietly reminds Robert that he has said many times how much he admires Lila. He asks if Robert believes she is the kinda of woman to commit bigamy. Robert says not knowingly. Monica wants to know what proof he has. Robert tells them that there is no record of them ever being divorced. Edward denies they were being blackmailed. After Robert leaves, Edward wonders if Robert could be bought off. Alan is horrified and declares that he will get arrested, that he can’t bribe Robert. Monica suggests they just sit tight while Robert makes the next move.

3/14 Lila is quite cheerful the next morning, looking forward to the party. Everyone else is very glum as Jimmy Lee arrives. He tells them that Robert arrested Crane Toliver last night. He had planned on leaving town suddenly when Robert arrived and hauled him off. They discuss trying to keep the Blackmail story quiet. Jimmy Lee doesn’t believe Toliver will talk. (Note: 5 second glitch, dialogue cut). After Jimmy Lee leaves, they each admit they thought one of the other two had actually killed Susan. They all swear they didn’t do it, and then come to the conclusion that it was Tolliver. Grant comes in and surprises the Q's with the news that their party will be even more exciting because Celia is coming to town. After Grant and Lila leave the room, Edward groans that is all they need to have Dear Cousin Herbert’s granddaughter to come here and spy on them! They are all surprised that Jimmy Lee hasn’t told all.

Bert fills Robert in that they found a body in the woods and the Sgt recognizes as the "Tolliver" that was tossed in jail the night of Susan's murder. Suddenly Robert suspects a hoax, that Crane Toliver was not in jail the night of Susan’s murder. He immediately heads to the PCPD and warns Bert not to talk to anyone.  Smirking, Tolliver insists that Scorpio has no proof of his guilt. Dressed in his checker jacket, Tolliver is ID'd as the man in the drunk tank the night Susan was murdered. Robert questions Jimmy Lee about his hiring Tolliver at the construction site. Jimmy Lee calls Edward and fills him in on Robert’s latest questioning. Robert heavily grills Tolliver hoping he will crack.

A messenger arrives at GH with invitations for Jesse, Gail, Rick & Leslie, Steve & Audrey, Dan Rooney. Gail is shocked to see it is an invitation to a party at the Quartermaine’s! Rick and Leslie approach and they are equally surprised and wonder if it is a joke? They agree that it is strange but it is the Quartermaines after all. Rick observes it could be the disaster of the year!

3/15 Tolliver clams up under Robert's heavy questioning. The bartender at the Bucket of Blood identifies Tolliver as the man that was getting drunk the night of the murder. He relates his side of the story on how he came to be arrested, complete with flashbacks.  Robert sets Tolliver up by arranging to release him, though Bert is really puzzled that Robert is letting him go? While Tolliver waits to be released, Robert arranges for him to overhear Ramsey telling the desk Sgt that Robert has an eyewitness to Susan's murder. Tolliver goes into a panic.

Heather is brought into the PCPD with quite the attitude. Robert warns her that she lied to a police officer as not one word of her deposition about Monica was true. Heather continues to insist she isn’t lying. Robert continues that Heather was alone in the house with Susan. Heather declares that he doesn’t have any proof against her. He asks how she feels about breaking and entering charges. He knows she illegally entered the house and then she called and told him where to find the bullet photo. She whines that he can’t possibly prove that she was the one who called him. He sternly tells her that he never mentioned getting the information via a phone call. He accuses her of breaking into the Quartermaine’s to plant the letter, and found the photo. He also accuses her of lying about seeing Monica kill Susan.

3/16 Party night approaches and the Q's are as nervous as cats. A radio broadcast relates the news that Heather has retracted her story about Monica. Monica rejoices at that news! Crane is listening to the same news report that Robert is close to the arrest of a prime suspect. Tolliver then overhears Scorpio grilling the desk clerk. Bribing the desk clerk, Tolliver learns that Robert has arranged a meeting with Heather. The rest of the family worries about now who the prime suspect is? Alan worries that Robert is about to lower the boom on another suspect and it could be him or Edward. Monica continues to rejoice that she is off the hook. Jimmy Lee calls the mansion to check on the party arrangements, he can’t wait for the party, and asks about a champagne fountain.

Alan warns them that they all have to stick together as Robert is onto something to do with the blackmail. Monica is very relieved that she is off the hook though her relief annoys Alan as he and Edward are not off the hook. Alan and Edward worrying about Tolliver telling Robert everything and they have to take ruthless measures to stop Tolliver. Monica declares that she is not going to be involved in doing anything illegal now that she is free and clear! Alan uses his temper with her that her attitude towards this family ever since Heather retracted her statement has been intolerable.

Monica says the pressure is off of her and she wants to enjoy this freedom! Edward snarks they have more concerns than Monica’s happiness. Edward warns her that there is a lot of Quartermaine money involved. Alan states they don’t know what evidence Robert has as the unsigned divorce papers are still missing. He insists they keep their stories together. Edward joins in that if cousin Herbert ever finds out that he and Lila were never legally married, he will be after the money sooner than you can say…..

Monica interrupts, “BANKRUPTCY!” Edward muses that Tolliver will want the money and even Lila agrees that she is willing to pay him to get the papers.

When Tolliver approaches Kelly's, he observes Heather arguing with Scorpio. Tolliver is stalking Heather and he watches as she leaves the police station. Tolliver sneaks into the apartment and hears Heather telling Alice she will house sit at Susan's cottage that night. Tolliver goes to the trailer and removes the documents from under the drafting table. When Tolliver bumps into Jimmy Lee outside Kelly’s, Jimmy Lee lashes out at him and warns him not to mess with the Q's.

3/17 A nasty storm is closing in on Port Charles. Heather leaves the apartment and is followed by Tolliver. Grant is about to pick up Celia from the airport when he gets a call from the hospital. Edward dispatches a limo for Celia and prays for a flat tire.  A nervous Alan has started drinking even before the party starts. The party is in full swing with everyone arrived. Jimmy Lee plans a big announcement. Mark is with Rose, Blackie with Tiffany, and Bobbie with David Arlen. Also attending the party are Rick, Lesely, Brian, Claudia and Lee and Gail. Heather is alone at the cottage when Tolliver tries to break in. Scotty shows up and he hides.

The beautiful Celia Quartermaine arrives as the party is in full swing. Jimmy Lee is immediately smitten. Celia is more interested in catching up with her old friend Celia who she knows from finishing school in England. The Q's are very uneasy to see Robert arrive. Edward makes special toast to welcome his natural son Eric Quartermaine, aka: Jimmy Lee Holt. The crowd is stunned. Jimmy Lee announces he will be working at ELQ, but he prefers to keep using his humble name.

3/18  While the Q party is still in full swing, Heather is alone at the cottage, and Tolliver sneaks up behind her holding a knife. She saw him kill Susan and and now she must die. Escaping to the bedroom, Heather tries to make a call to Robert but the storm has downed the lines. Convinced that he's got the upper hand, Tolliver willingly reveals his blackmail scheme to Heather before he kills her. He tells her about Susan’s snitching to Jackie, his finding a drunken bum to take his place in the drunk tank as a double for himself the night of the murder. When the call doesn't come as planned, Robert races to the cottage. Tolliver closes in on Heather with the knife. Just then, Robert bursts in and arrests Tolliver for Susan's murder. Heather never really saw Tolliver shoot Susan, but agreed to act as if she did to catch him.

Everyone awaits the squad car when the doorbell rings. As Scotty runs in, the lights go out due to the storm and Tolliver makes his escape. Scorpio fires critically wounding the old man. Clutching his bleeding chest, Tolliver staggers to the Quartermaine party and finds Jimmy Lee licking his wounds in the garden. Tolliver dying, tells Holt to take the papers as they are as good as gold!

3/21 Robert trails Tolliver to the Q mansion just as Jimmy Lee carries the critically wounded man in the living room. Steve calls an ambulance as Jackie questions Robert. Robert clears the room and requests all the guests to leave immediately. Rick examines him and thinks his spleen was hit. Steve reports that power lines are down and ambulance will be delayed. Grant offers to take Ceila to a hotel, but enamoured already with Jimmy Lee she says she finds this all cops and robbers stuff very exciting (as she glances at Jimmy Lee, who is also looking at her).

Dvd #6B Awaiting the ambulance, the Q's nervously overhear Scorpio questioning Jimmy Lee. Holt says nothing about seeing any documents. Edward, Monica, Lila and Alan speculate on what to do if the papers are discovered. Robert gives Lila a few minutes alone with Tolliver. Despite his grave condition, Tolliver won't tell her where the papers are. Heather and Scotty show up at the mansion. Monica has a fit and calls Heather a lying tramp. The ambulance finally arrives after a great delay from the storm.

3/22 Edward is anxious for Tolliver to croak so the secret of Lila will remain buried. Monica says that still doesn't solve the mystery of where the papers are. Edward wants Robert to hide the truth to why Tolliver was in town, but Robert refuses. Edward, Alan and Monica get into a furious argument causing him to storm out.  Robert questions Jimmy Lee to his involvement with Tolliver and later frisks him to find the missing papers. Holt denies any knowledge of blackmail. After Robert leaves, Jimmy Lee tapes the papers and puts them behind a wall that is under construction at the PC University.

3/23 Alan and Monica try to reason with Tolliver but he keeps silent. Crane urges Jimmy Lee to use the papers against Edward. After Holt leaves, Crane reaches to disconnect his IV, but has a heart attack and dies despite Rick's efforts to revive him.

3/24 Alan and Monica break the news to Edward that Tolliver is dead. The Q's learn that Robert is going to hold a press conference, so Edward goes to see Robert, but runs into Holly instead. Robert holds the press conference with Edward in attendance and Ian grills Robert about the blackmail. Edward is spotted, and Ian begins digging for clues. Edward says only there was a small personal embarrassment with regards to Tolliver.  A judge arrives on very short notice as Edward has pulled some strings to get him there quickly. In a simple quick ceremony, Edward marries Lila as Monica, Alan, and Stella witness. When Grant and Celia enter, Edward makes up a Quartermaine tradition of getting remarried every 20 years.

3/30 A very giddy Alan tells Lila that he has a surprise for everyone later on. She is very excited but he will not give her any hints. Over at GH, Alan finds Monica is having a bad day as she had a dreadful morning. He leaves the hospital and she just misses him. An upset Monica arrives home and is disturbed to find Jason playing with AJ. Alan tries to reassure her and reminds her they are brothers and wants them to have that relationship. Monica is used as her patient died, and Alan holds her in his arms and comforts her.

4/7 Alan and Monica arrive wanting to lend a helping hand at the empty waterfront clinic. Leslie tells them that there aren’t any patients waiting. Emma Lutz brings a couple of her friends in to provide them support. The community are now afraid of going to the clinic.

4/11 Incensed at the amount of clerical work they are doing, the GH nursing staff have gone on the uprising. They demand that some non medical clerks be hired and trained. Several doctors oppose making changes as they fear non-nurses doing the charting. The nurse’s argue they should be spending more time on patient care and not doing clerical work. Steve puts the decision in the doctor’s hands, and except for Lesley they veto the idea. Bobbie is furious when the mostly male doctors shoot down the idea.

4/14 Celia learns all the nurse’s are out sick due to food poisioning. She calls Grant at GH and he begs her to come in and volunteer to help during the nurses shortage. There is pandemonium at GH as Monica, Leslie, and Gail are all desperately trying to cover the nurse’s station. They are getting a crash course in trying to chart and tend to demanding patients. The doctors complain to each other about how the demands of nursing. When Celia arrives, Monica welcomes her to “General Madness”!

4/15 Pandamonium continues at GH as the nurses are still recovering from the poisoning and the doctors are sure learning how valuable they are and how hard they work. Alan, Brian, Rick complain to Steve about the work piling up. The docs are all standing around the nurse’s station complaining. They are really struggling with the loss of the nurse’s but are becoming more sympathetic to their demands. Alan and Monica argue about it later at home as she is supporting getting the nurse’s help with the clerical side of their duties.

4/18 Scenes from this episode glitchy. The next day, Alan and Monica are enjoying spending the morning bed in each other’s arms. They fantasise about going away together and decide to make it a reality. Alan says he will talk to Steve about getting time off and Monica will go to the travel agent. Alan tells her wherever she wants to go, some place it is sunny and she can wear a bikini. Edward knocks on their bedroom door, interrupting them. He needs Monica immediately to deal with an issue at Bohlen Pharmaceuticals in her capacity of being their medical advises. He orders her to meet him at the office in an hour and walks out. Monica decides to refuse Edward’s orders and gets back in bed. Alan talks her into going into the office to pacify Edward. Alan promises to talk to Steve about taking the time off. Monica wants to go some place far far away, with no phones and no computers. She gazes at him, longing for it to be just the two of them. Next, Stella interrupts their romantic moment with the arrival of their breakfast.

Monica arrives at GH, she is off to Topeka, Kansas to do research at Bohlen Pharmaceuticals under orders from Edward. Monica arrives home and finds Robert there. He overhears her getting another doctor to cover her patient while she is off to Topeka. Robert asks why she is going to Topeka. She tells him it is ELQ business to check out a new drug and to try to get the contract on it. Monica is curious why Robert is so interested in her trip. He tells her that he can’t go into details, but he asks her to keep an eye out for anything strange or out of the ordinary. She agrees to keep her eyes open though he is vague about what she would be looking for (Note: Topeka is one of the likely cities in the espionage ring that Robert is investigating.)

4/26 Celia informs the Q's that her grandfather has had a heart attack. Edward and Alan are not at all distraught to learn that her father has been ordered on complete bed rest for the next month. She laments that thy have to cancel the wedding at their mansion as her grandfather couldn’t stand all the commotion now. Grant suggests they elope. Celia agrees that a big wedding is out of the question. Lila offers to hold the wedding at the Q mansion instead. Edward and Alan are not exactly supportive. Edward suggests a church wedding and then only hold the reception at the house and Grant and Celia accept their offer. When left alone, Edward and Alan trash the rest of their extended family from Celia’s father to cousins. They plot to keep the ailing Cousin Herbert from attending the wedding. They don’t want him around while the divorce papers are still floating around somewhere.

5/3 At the Quartermaine’s, Lila, Alan and AJ talk about their day. Celia is gone again and Lila makes excuses for her that she is so busy with wedding preparations. Grant says that maybe Monica will enjoy dining with him as he finance obviously doesn’t want to. After he walks away, Lila muses to Alan that something isn’t quite right between that couple (she is right as Celia is having an affair with Jimmy Lee).

5/5 Jimmy Lee and Celia are making plans to meet at the trailer when Monica comes downstairs. Puzzled she questions Celia about what she needs with a trailer. Celia covers and says she was talking to the tailor and Monica misheard her. Grant and Alan enter and ask about her trip to Topeka. Grant says that Dr. Jerrold, a brilliant professor is working for the pharmaceutical company. They agree to make plans to invite the doctor to join them for dinner. As Alan and Monica wait for Celia to arrive home for dinner, Grant apologizes for how late she is.

5/9 The Q’s are having cocktails before their dinner and Celia is very distracted. She is also having difficulty keeping track of all of her lies to cover up the time she is spending with Jimmy Lee. Monica asks how her dress fitting went and Celia is puzzled and confused. When Grant arrives and they continue to ask wedding questions, Celia runs out overwhelmed and very conflicted. Monica suggests that Celia doesn’t really want to get married right now. Lila is shocked if she is suggesting that Celia doesn’t love Grant. Edward chimes in that he doesn’t think they are sleeping together. Monica suggest that is probably because she is finding life more exciting around a construction site. Edward clears his throat and when Lila goes into dinner, he asks Monica to be more discreet in front of Lila. Edward questions if she thinks Celia is having an affair with Jimmy Lee. Alan is shocked. Monica shares some details that point towards a relationship. Monica points out they are related in name only, like third cousins.

Later that night, Celia sneaks out of the Q’s to meet up with Jimmy Lee. She tells him she saw him from upstairs and tells him how dangerous this is. Jimmy Lee knows she isn’t in love with her husband and he knows Celia has feelings for him. He tells her that she has until tomorrow, it is either him or Grant but she can’t have both of them. Celia is more confused as ever. Monica runs into an upset Celia as she is about to go upstairs. She takes Celia into the living room and sits her down and offers some warmth and friendship.

Celia confides that she doesn’t know if she loves Grant. Monica surmises the problem is Jimmy Lee. Celia looks horrified at this insight. Celia tells Monica about meeting Grant and that feelings she developed for him. Then she met Jimmy Lee and he excites her in a way no man ever has before. She is in love with two different men and doesn’t know what to do. Monica urges her to forget all of this as Jimmy Lee is just a flash in the pan, and advises that she not see him again. Celia knows she has to decide which man she wants to spend the rest of her life with, and what kind of life she wants.

In the morning when the Q’s all leave, Jimmy Lee sneaks in and Celia is so drawn to him. He can see it in her eyes that he is the one she chooses. He kisses her and she looks excited at choosing him.

5/11 Jimmy Lee arrives at the mansion looking for Celia, who isn’t home. He tries to say he is there on business. Jimmy Lee tells them that he is her model, she sculpts him. Monica laughs and teases is that what they are calling it these days. Alan walks in and tells everyone that he just saw Celia and Grant holding hands at the rib. Alan tells Edward and Monica that Celia has new respect for Grant since the surgery he did on a young student who is a pianist. Celia helped the boy through the preparing for surgery, and she bonded with Grant as he saved the crushed hand of the boy. Jimmy Lee arrives at the mansion and Celia screams for him to leave. Grant arrives and punches Holt then forceably removes him from the mansion. Grant knows Celia was having an affair with Holt and calls off the wedding.

5/20 A real estate agent arrives at the mansion and disappoints Grant and Celia that someone else as purchased the house they wanted. Grant thinks it is strange that this happened so suddenly and to the first and only house that they agreed on. Edward wants to keep an eye on Celia, so he has blocked this purchase. As the agent tells them about a cottage, Alan says oh no not that place. They make up nonsense about rats, ect to discourage them. He tells them about another home and Edward says the bluff that house is on is unstable. Unfortunately he doesn’t have any other listings that meet their requirements.

After they leave, Edward admits to Alan and Monica that he bought the house they were interested in. Monica can’t believe it. Alan declares it was very selfish. Edward snarks not so selfless as Alan is going to co-sign the mortgage for the shocking amount of over $300k. Now the two will have to stay under the Q roof till another opportunity comes along. Edward declares he won’t be able to do that again, and if there is another house then Monica will have to buy it. She flat out refuses.

Edward proceeds to explain the situation to Lila. When Celia and Grant return home, she encourages them to not rush into finding another home. Grant points out that the wedding is coming up soon and they planned on moving out. Lila suggests that they move into the east wing on a more permanent basis. Grant worries that it is an imposition but Lila sweetly declares they are family and welcome to stay. Grant observes that he is only planning on staying at GH for a couple of years. Lila says she hopes he will stay longer than two years, as she would love to see their children running around. Celia lights up at the idea, but Grant looks strange at the idea.

Edward calls Alan chortling with the news that he worked his magic about the importance of happy family on Lila and then siced her on Grant and Celia’s direction. He reports they are outside discussing the idea, but they are holding hands. Edward takes this as a very good sign! Alan shares the good news with her about the hand holding, and she declares that is just spiffy! Back at the mansion, Grant and Celia tell Edward and Lila that they will accept their gracious offer. They turn down their lunch invitation to spend the afternoon alone.

5/31 :6 mins Party at GH - missed most of episode, found a few minutes of this on a Rick & Leslie edit. The gang throw a surprise party for Steve & Jesse to celebrate their anniversary of 8 years for him as Chief of Staff and Jesse has been Head Nurse. Rick can’t believe that Leslie wants to try to throw this together in one day. (Note: very little of party shown, just Steve & Audrey entering and being congratulated. Don’t know if anything else aired).

6/3 GRANT AND CELIA WEDDING PART 1 - At 6:30 am the morning of her wedding day, Celia runs smack into Jimmy Lee on her way out. Unless Celia allows him to drive her to Delfina's, Jimmy Lee will announce they were together all night. Peeling out of the driveway, his screeches awake Monica and Alan from their bed. Acting as if he has car trouble, Jimmy Lee sneakily releases the air from the front tire. He soon has to stop the car due a flat tire.

Around noon at the mansion, Edward informs everyone that Celia left early to go to the Scorpios. Grant is very nervous as he feels sure something is going to go wrong. Jimmy Lee takes her to a mountain motel and tells her she can’t go back into town covered in grease and he has already checked them into the motel. She can go in and get cleaned up. She looks in the mirror and then agrees to go shower. Jimmy Lee sneaks into the bathroom and takes her clothes and tosses them in a garbage can outside. When she realizes what she has done, and still avoiding her feelings for him, she climbs out the window and proceeds to walk down the road wrapped only in a blanket. She hitches a ride on an old truck and sits on the crates of chickens in the back.

Soon Lee and Gail arrive at the mansion and Monica comes down in her wedding attire. Then Celia's father Quentin Quartermaine arrives. Monica and Alan privately talk and hope that Jimmy Lee has given up as there hasn’t been any sign of him. Lila soon joins the party, and then Dr. Jerrod shows up as well. They all toast to Grant and the wedding. They all arrive at the church in a limo. Grant worries that Celia isn’t there yet. Monica assures him that Celia will be arriving in her own limo with Holly and Robert, and she will wait till all the guests have arrived to make her grand entrance. Meanwhile, Celia is walking down a road in the woods wearing only a towel swearing that she is going to kill Jimmy Lee.

But Grant thinks Celia ran off with Holt and runs out of the chapel, but not before decking Jimmy Lee outside! Edward runs off to tend to Grant and vows to bring him back. Edward fails to get Grant to come back but later, he gets a call from Natalie. Natalie convinces Grant he must go through with the wedding as part of his cover. The wedding goes off, and Natalie leaves with mission accomplished, now all she needs is the disc that Dr Jerrold is working on.
