& Robin #14 August 25 - October 2, 1986 - 8 hour original edit
#14A Duke is
involved with Damon in laundering money. Damon believes that eliminating Frisco
and Felicia would have been the better choice. Anna has just told Tony and Tanya
that Felicia and Frisco are wanted under suspicion of theft. Anna and Lewis
assures them that they have to question them, that they don't believe they are
guilty. Tony points out it is only a discrepancy in the books, and Bobbie
observes that Felicia can't be arrested for bad math. Burt comes in and tells
them that $28,000 in lose cash was found floating around the docks. Burt arrives
and brings two witnesses with him, they describe the blonde woman wearing a
white fur coat, and tell how the young couple stole a motorcycle. A disbelieving
Bobbie shows a picture of Felicia and he identifies her as the woman involved.
Duke and Angel go over the plan to transfer the money, and a sad Duke has no
choice but to continue to set Felicia up in order to keep her and Frisco alive.
Anna arrives to question Duke about Felicia. Angel returns with two liquer boxes
that contain the illegal money to be laundered. When Anna is curious what is so
special about that Scotch, Duke quickly changes the subject. Duke questions Anna
about Felicia's possible motives. Anna does momentarily revisit the Aztec
storyline when Felicia and Frisco were after the treasure. Duke has successfully
placed doubt that Felicia has taken the money.
Damon warns Duke that the next shipment of money will be even larger, and he
still wants to put out a contract on Frisco and Felicia. Duke won't hear of it.
Damon tells Duke not to threaten him, and if Duke continues to move the money
that his friend will be fine. Burt turns over more money to Anna and says that
it looks like most of the money will be returned to Duke. Lewis is irate and
insists that he doesn't believe Frisco and Felicia have anything to do with
this. Burt asks why they would run if they weren't involved. Angel tells Duke
that someone has gotten ahold of the code and he found a partial printout. Duke
realizes that Felicia must have stumbled upon the access code and has the entire
Tumble Dry file. Angel hopes that perhaps they won't be able to brea the code,
Duke doesn't have much hope of that. They realize Toughie will immediately tell
Damon. Angel blames Toughie for leaving the information the computer screen
where Felicia could see it. Toughie calls Damon and insists on meeting with him
immediately. After Toughie fills in Damon on the missing printout, Damon
immediately calls for a hit on Frisco and Felicia.
Anna and Duke talk again as they go over the situation. Lewis calls with the
disturbing news that the bank has verified the deposit was short the cash. Anna
has no choice but to issue a statewide APB. Damon and Duke continue to argue
about Frisco and Felicia. Duke points out that Felicia and Frisco have been
taken care of with his set up. Anna learns a couple fitting their description
has been arrested in Manhatten. The NYPD are holding the pair who stole
the goods from the Joneses! Robin knows something is going on and asks Anna to
tell her what the excitement is about. Anna tells her that she is going to New
York to bring Frisco and Felicia home. Duke calls and talks to Robin, she tells
him that she can't tell him where her mother is as it is a secret. Robin meets
Duke at the zoo and she lets it slip to Duke that her mom is going to New York
to bring Frisco and Felicia home. Duke realizes that Anna is coming closer and
closer to discovering his involvement in the Tumble Dry scam. Duke tells Angel
that Anna is more important to him than the business and when she finds out what
he is involved in, she will never want to see him again.
Anna and Jake are relieved to realize that the couple in captivity are NOT
Frisco and Felicia. Anna asks to question them hoping to get information on
F&F's whereabouts. Duke has Tessie following Frisco and Felicia. She calls
Duke to report in that they are on their way to Cincinnati, and they will be
sent on to Chicago from there. Duke is very relieved to learn that Frisco and
Felicia are not in custody. Duke and Angel are glad that Damon doesn't have any
of this information as they know what he would do. Unfortunately, Damon is
listening in on the call and makes a call to confirm the hit on the couple and
to inform where they are headed so the hitman can be waiting for them. Duke
later tells Angel that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Anna, at
least he is going to try to. Duke introduces Teri and she sings "Someone To
Watch Over Me" as Anna enters the club. Duke tells Anna how beautiful she
looks, but wishes she didn't look so sad. Duke tells her he used to have an eye
for beautiful women, but now he has eyes for only one. He asks her to dance but
she turns him down. She asks him to tell her whatever it is that he is holding
back. He promises that everything will be made right in a few weeks and asks her
to be patient. She says she would like to say yes but honestly doesn't know.
Damon is wondering whether he can trust Lavery's loyalty. From the shadows he
watches Duke embrace the attractive police commissioner.
Anna is under pressure as the newspaper is questioning whether the PD is doing
all they can or whether they are trying to cover up for a feelow officer.
Anna tells Captain Lewis to intensify the search for Frisco and Felicia. Duke
tells Angel he is worried about what has happened to Frisco and Felicia as they
should have shown up in Cincinnati. When Duke arrives at Anna's office, she asks
him about what he meant by to give the situation a few weeks? How is everything
going to be magically fixed? She warns him that given a choice between him and
doing her duty, she will choose her duty over him.
A woman gives Anna a lead on Frisco and Felicia's whereabouts. The woman found
Frisco's police uniform on her property. Anna calls Duke to cancel their date
for that evening. She tells him she has to go out of town to follow up on a lead
following Frisco and Felicia. Anna goes out to the woman's property to
investigate further. She tells Sam that she is more and more convinced that
Felicia has been framed to make it look like she has stolen that money but is
puzzled as to why? Toughy points out that Duke is going to be upset about the
hit that Damon put out on Frisco and Felicia. Damon isn't worried. He tells
Toughy that by the time Duke finds out the kids are dead that he will be
grateful as the printout Felicia has could put them all in prison for a very
long time. Meanwhile, Duke tells Angel that he doesn't trust Damon and suspects
that he may have put a hit out on them. Duke reports into Damon that Frisco and
Felicia are being contained. Damon doesn't seem to believe him but says he will
report back to Mr. B that Duke has it under control.
Duke tells Damon that everything is arranged for the shipment that is due today.
After Damon leaves, Angel reports that Frisco and Felicia haven't shown up yet
in Chicago. Duke is concerned that Frisco and Felicia haven't made it to Chicago
yet, and suspects that something is very very wrong Damon has something to do
with it. Duke tells Damon that if he has done anything to harm Frisco and
Felicia that he will see him in hell! Anna is getting criticism from all sides.
The Lawyers Association is upset with her for coddling a criminal (Frisco) and
The Police Benevolent Association is filing charges against Anna for persecuting
Frisco. Captain Lewis informs Anna that Frisco was investigating shipments of
washing machines to the ADZ Warehouse. Later that night, Duke gives Anna a key
to his penthouse.
Damon tells Phillip that Frisco and Felicia won't make it to Atlantic City,
alive. Anna is feeling additional pressure by reporters to find Frisco and
Felicia. Anna tells Sean that the ADZ Warehouse is the key to Frisco's sudden
disappearence from Port Charles. Sean also believes that Frisco's actions do not
fit criminal intent and that it would be just like Frisco to try to solve the
frame up himself. Sean gladly agrees to check out the warehouse to see if
there's any connection to Frisco's going on the run but isn't sure she's going
to like the answers. He points out that all of this started after Felicia went
to work for Duke. Anna bristles with the suggestion that Duke might be involved.
Sean cautions her about her emotions being involved and keeping her objectivity.
Duke tells Angel to do what he can to locate Frisco and Felicia. A meetng is
called and Damon introduces Mr. B as no other than Bert Ramsey! Bert postpones
the hit on the Joneses until he can get the printout back and instructs Damon to
buy an interest in Purity Water in order to use Laurelton as a money laundering
center in the future. Damon gives Edna, the hitwoman an order to retrieve the
printout from Frisco and Felicia and then go ahead and kill them. Edna tells
Damon that Frisco and Felicia are staying in Damon's hotel, the same hotel he is
in! Bert does not want any connection to Frisco and Felicia and they are to wait
until
Sean investigates the movement of washing machines to and from the ADZ warehouse
at Anna's request. Tom tells him that he saw a shipment of crates between
Duke's club and the warehouse. Tom thinks better of telling Sean about the
crates and fills Duke in, hoping he didn't do the wrong thing. Duke is upset
when Tom Green admits that he told Sean about the shipment going to his
place, but Duke covers his agitation infront of Tom. Sean tells Anna what
Tom told him and is starting to think that Duke is involved in something shady
but Anna doesn't want to believe that. Anna asks Sean if he thinks that Frisco's
curiousity about the warehouse lead to his disappearance? Anna thanks him for
shaping her up. Later, Anna is compelled to question Duke about his involvement
with the ADZ Warehouse. He realizes the tone as her "official voice".
She wants to know what was in the crates that were transfered from the warehouse
to his club. He responds that it was liquor and linens and nothing else. They go
over the embezzlement details again.
Anna tells Tony that she is going to have to throw the book at Frisco for
stealing a motorcycle and helping Felicia escape. Buzz tells Anna that Dan
Rooney was the victim of a hit-and-run accident and his right hand was almost
severed. Duke finds an upset Anna there and refuses to let her brush him off.
They're still upset with each other after Anna grilled him earlier. Duke
apologizes for his harsh words. She warns him that she is a cop first and she is
sorry if she has to investigate you and your connection to the ADZ warehouse.
It's my job. He tells her that she comes first with him and any job he has
is second to her, especially when she is hurting or in trouble. Anna's still
unable to let it go. She can't get past her instincts that Duke is
involved in Frisco and Felicia's problems. He points out that if you
love someone that you should trust them no matter what. She disagrees, that if
you love someone then you should tell them the truth regardless of whether it
hurts them or not, a lesson she learned long ago. He promises again to tell her
everything if she will just give him some more time. She tells him that they
don't have any more time. He asks her not to look at him like that, that he
loves her. She sadly says she really thought he did but now there are just too
many unanswered questions. He promises that he would never to anything to
intentionally hurt her or anyone close to her. He asks her to remember what they
had together. As she turns to go, he begs her not to walk away from him when he
is trying to salvage a future with her. Anna tells Duke that it seems like the
accident was done on purpose. (She is right, upset that Dan Rooney rejected his
company's construction plans for the shoddy development of Fisherman's Village,
Bert had arranged for Dan to have an accident to remove him from his position as
the Commissioner of Waterfront Development.) Buzz, Rick, Yank and Bobbie tell
Anna and Ruby that Dan made it through the surgery. Bert tells Damon that David
can take over Dan Rooney's position as Building Commissioner now that Dan is out
of the way. Toughie tells Duke and Angel that Damon is in Atlantic City, meeting
with Mr. B. Tessie tells Duke that Frisco and Felicia are in Atlantic
City. He tells her to keep them safe from Damon.
Tessie calls and tells Duke that Frisco and Felicia are in Atlantic City. Duke
tells Tessie that Damon is in Atlantic City and if he sees Frisco and Felicia
that he will have them killed. He asks her to keep them safely hidden from
Damon. Duke tells Angel that he is going to Atlantic City. Bert tells Rick that
he can't find any evidence of the hit-and-run driver who mowed down Dan. Bert
tells Damon to order Duke to recommend one of their mobsters to be Dan's
assistant. Damon tells Bert that Sean has been snooping around the ADZ
Warehouse. Bert tells Damon that Tessie knows that Edna is trying to kill Frisco
and Felicia. Damon tells Edna to kill Tessie before she has the chance to talk
with Frisco and Felicia. To keep Donely away from the ADZ Warehouse, Bert tells
Damon that he will arrest Sean for Alan's murder. Duke goes to see Anna and
wants to know if she still loves him? She points out that three weeks ago, he
promised to tell her everything as soon as he got out from under an obligation.
He says he has every intention of telling her today. She realizes that there is
something terribly wrong, that she can see it in his eyes? She asks if he is in
trouble and offers to help him. She worries about whatever it is that he is
hiding from her. Duke tells Angel he plans on retrieving Frisco and Felicia from
Atlantic City and bring them home safely. Anna interrogates Sean about his Swiss
bank account and theft of the Quartermaine fortune. With Sean out of the way,
Duke and Damon make the cash transfer to Duke's Club. Duke thinks that he no
longer has to be involved in laundering money, that he is out of this dirty
business. To Duke's outrage, Damon tells him that he is still going to be
involved in money laundering with the mob.
Damon tells Ramsey that he informed Duke he isn't going to be allowed to leave
the organization. Damon wants to know when they will tell Duke that he is no
longer in charge of the Port Charles operation. Bert shakes his head, he doesn't
want Duke to know yet. Bert tells Damon that when he was named co-chief of
police, instead of commissioner, he decided to join the mob. Now, he has the
power he always wanted. Anna wants Duke to tell her what information he has on
Felicia and Frisco, but Duke tells her he needs more time. Anna is tired of his
delaying and feels an urgency to help Frisco and Felicia. She tries to
communicate to him how desperate she is as she feels as though they are in
danger. He tells her he is trying to help but he hasn't been able to find
them. She asks him again if he is in some kind of trouble. Anna receives a call
from Captain Lewis that Tessie has been killed in Atlantic City. Ramsey and Anna
go to Atlantic City and learn that Frisco and Felicia bought the mink coat at an
auction. Burt fakes remorse as he identifies Tessie. Frisco and Felicia return
to their hotel room but escape when they hear Anna and Bert entering their room.
Duke also arrives and he also confirms that Tessie has died. Duke confronts
Damon about the hit on Tessie and tells him he is going to Atlantic City. Duke
tells Angel that he blames himself for Tessie's death and that he feels
responsible for the danger that Frisco and Felicia are in.
#14B Anna tells Sam that she found no sign of Frisco and Felicia in
Atlantic City. Duke confronts Damon about Tessie's murder. Damon tells him
that Duke answers to him, not the other way around. Damon orders Duke to
convince Mayor Morgan to hire one of their mobsters to replace Dan Rooney as
Building Commissioner. Duke warns Damon that if Mr. B doesn't call off the hit
on Frisco and Felicia, he will tell Anna everything about the organization. In
the park, Robin overhears Damon say that he may have to kill Anna. Worried about
what she heard, Robin tells Anna, but her mum thinks that Robin is just
imagining things. Anna offers to cancel her dinner plans with Duke but Robin
insists on Anna keeping her date, that she knows her mother will be safe with
Uncle Duke. Robin then tries to call Duke but there is no answer. Robin then
calls Buzz and tells him she has a very big problem and needs his help. A
drugged out Buzz snaps at her and tells her he is very buzy and she should call
her Uncle Duke. Meanwhile, Anna shows up for her date with Duke and he picks up
on her subdued mood. She tells him that Robin is having a problem with her job
and almost had an anxiety attack tonight about Anna's safety. She tells Duke
what Robin thinks she overheard in the park threatening Anna's life. Anna
decides to return home to comfort her daughter. After she leaves, Duke fumes
knowing Damon is behind it. Robin makes a phone call to her daddy, Robert
Scorpio. She tells him that she tried to talk to Duke, to Buzz and they wouldn't
listen. She tells him that she couldn't call Sean and Frisco is away. She has no
one else to help her and she begs him to come to Port Charles to save Anna's
life.
The next morning, Anna is concerned if Robin is still afraid? Robin assures her
that now she knows everything will be fine. But does not fill her mother in on
her late night phone call. Duke threatens Damon if he harms Anna. Damon tells
Duke that he will be involved in Phase III of the project if he wants to save
Anna's life. As insurance to protect those he cares for, Duke is putting
together a package of incriminating information on the mob and he is going to
send it to the police. Angel tries to talk Duke out of doing it as it will be
suicide for him. Duke plans on sending the package to Bert Ramsey and then
leaving town. Anna shows up for her evening with Duke. She is dressed up for the
special occassion. Duke promises that they will celebrate their love for each
other. Anna warmly discusses their future together. They go upstairs to share
their private dinner, and Duke toasts to their future. He kisses her and tells
her how much he loves her. He asks her if she believes him? She says yes, but
sometimes she doesn't think this is real. He tells her there is only one reality
and he pulls her towards him and kisses her. He promises her that he has taken
steps to protect Frisco and Felicia and that they will be coming home soon. He
asks her to believe him. She says she will if he says it is true. She notices he
is distracted and asks what is bothering him? She assures him that he can tell
her anything. She asks if he is in trouble? He talks about his past and that he
has been in trouble since he was a kid trying to put food on the table. He tells
her how much he loves her and that will never change, no matter what, no matter
where he goes. A concerned Anna tells him it sounds like he is saying goodbye!
He continues kissing her and they sleep together.
Later in bed with Duke, Anna tells him about Robert and says she never thought
she would feel this way about a man again. Anna tells Duke about her past with
Robert. She tells him about Robin not knowing she was her mother, about being a
DVX agent and trying to get out but had to stay in to save Robert's life. She
hoped that Robert would come back to her but he met someone else and got
married. Duke asks her if she still loves Robert. Anna makes it clear to Duke
that she is devoted to him now. He asks her to promise that she will never be
with another man as he is terribly jealous and he can't stand the thought of her
with anyone else. He tells her that he loves her more than life itself and
begins kissing her again. As she lays in his arms later, she tells him that this
is the most wonderful place in the world and she doesn't want to waste any
precious moment with him by sleeping. They share a long lingering goodbye as he
once again tells her how much he loves her. He tells her everything will be
resolved today, but as he is saying goodbye to her there is a permanent sound to
it.
Duke is planning on turning over the evidence against the organization to free
Frisco and Felicia, and protect Anna. He will then leave town. Angel insists he
will go with him. Duke refuses as he will tie Angel up so that Damon will think
he tried to stop Duke. Angel refuses and insists that he is going with Duke.
Duke can't allow Angel to give up everything for him and he slugs him, knocking
him out. As Duke packs his bags to get out of Port Charles, Anna arrives. Duke
explains that the bags belong to Angel, but she is skeptical. She says that last
night it sounded like he was saying goodbye. When Duke arrives to meet Damon, he
calls Duke a traitor and waves the package in his face that he thought he had
sent to Bert Ramsey. Damon threatens to kill Anna and Robin if Duke tries to
betray the organization again. Duke later tells Anna that he needs more
time to come up with the information needed to help Frisco and Felicia.
Edna is about to shoot Frisco and Felicia at the ADZ warehouse when a shadowy
figure comes upon her, seen only from behind. She is then shown knocked out with
Robert standing over her, he is back in Port Charles. Hearing the couple escape,
Robert gives chase and calls out to them but loses them. Robert runs into Sean,
and Robert fills him in on Robin's panicked phone call. Sean asks if he thinks
the threat to Anna's life is related to the ADZ Warehouse? Robert tells
him about Edna about to take a hit on Frisco and Felicia and invites him to go
back in with him to take Edna in to the PD. They find that Edna is gone. Sean is
surprised and accuses his old friend of getting sloppy. Robert assumes someone
drug Edna away. They find the coat that Felicia left behind. Robert asks Sean
about Duke Lavery? Sean tells Robert his suspicions. Sean tells him that Anna is
in love with Duke. Robert is sure that Anna can separate her work from her
personal life. Sean isn't so sure that is true now. Robert determines to find
out more about this Lavery character and whether Robin's fears for her mother
have any merit.
Anna and Duke meet at the zoo. Duke asks her for more time so he can get the
info that he needs. He asks her to trust him, that he wants to dig a little
deeper before he brings her into the caper, that the PD gets involved that the
crooks will go underground. She tells him she trusts him completely. Robert
enters Anna's and suprises his daughter. He swings her around singing
"Waltzing Matilda". Robert sits her down and goes over with her what
she heard. Anna arrives home and isn't pleased to find her ex sitting in her
living room. He fills her in that Robin told him about the threat to Anna's
life. Anna assures him that there isn't a threat and he is wasting his time. He
pulls out the mink coat and the gun that he took off the assassin. She questions
if whether he doesn't think her and Burt can handle the crime in Port Charles?
He says that with everything that has happened since he arrived in town that
morning, he has had the distinct feeling that he is very much needed.
Burt gets quite the shock when he arrives and sees that Scorpio is back in town.
Robert fills him in on the hit he interrupted. Anna isn't thrilled by Robert's
return and gets defensive about his doubts over Duke. Robert points out that he
doesn't know Duke and he does know Frisco and Felicia and believes in them. She
tells them that Duke is trying to help them, that he believes that Frisco and
Felicia are innocent. Burt is very interested at this piece of news. He heads
over to see Damon, very concerned about Robert being back in town. Damon
observes that Robert sure seems to have shaken Burt up. Burt admits that he
worked with Robert for years and he was a very fine cop, and before that an
agent for the WSB. He suggests that Damon not underestimate Scorpio as he won't
rest till he gets to the truth. He says that Robert smells the connection
between the attempted hit on Frisco and Felicia and the threat on Anna. Burt
worries that Robert gets really angry when someone he loves is in danger and he
is already prepared to act to protect Anna, Frisco, and Felicia, but god help
them if Robert ever finds out that they threatened his child!
Robin calls Duke and asks him to meet her at the zoo. She then asks her father
to take her to the zoo. Robin introduces the two men in Anna's life to each
other. Robert observes that Robin seems very fond of him. Robin announces that
Duke is mommie's boyfriend and they are going to get married! Robert pulls Duke
aside to talk to him privately while Robin looks at the animals. Robert briefly
tells him about seeing Frisco and Felicia that morning but says he will let Anna
fill him in on the rest. Duke points out that Robert is a long way from home and
how long does he think he will be staying. Robert pointedly responds, "As
long as it takes."
When Duke returns to his office, she finds Duke waiting for her. Anna reassures
Duke that he is her future and Robert is her past. Duke seems threatened by
Robert, commenting that she shared a child with Robert, had been married to him,
all Duke has is a fantasy of a future with Anna. When Anna returns home, she is
disturbed to learn that Robert plans to stay at Anna's place for the duration of
his visit. Robert reminds her of when she put her life on the line to protect
Robert and asks how far would she go to in order to protect Lavery? She
questions what he is suggesting? He just hopes that when he gets to the bottom
of what is going on that she isn't the one who gets hurt. Meanwhile, Duke
worries to Angel that Damon is out of control. He knows Damon plans on having
Frisco and Felicia killed and that Anna and Robin are next on his list!
Anna is not happy to see Robert sleeping at her place, invading her privacy and
she makes a point of very noisily waking him up. She pointedly says that perhaps
he would be more comfortable in a hotel. He has made it clear that while he
feels she is threatened that he will stay at her place. Duke is also annoyed
when he spots Robert at Anna's home but she tries to explain to Lavery that
Robin feels safe with Robert close by and that makes it okay. Damon orders Duke
to host a masquerade party at his club as a cover for the laundered cash that
will be arriving from the Oliviert Circus. When Duke balks at his next
task, Damon says what a shame it would be if something happened to that darling
little girl. Furiious, Duke leaves in a huff.
Robert stops over at Kelly's and shares a warm reunion with Ruby and Tiffany.
Against Anna's wishes, Robert goes to visit Duke at his club and they have a
tense meeting. Anna arrives and is annoyed to find Robert there. Duke tells her
about the masquerade and suggests that they go as Argentinian Tango dancers.
Robert snarks maybe he should go as an Italian peasant on his wedding day
(referring to their wedding). Anna is shocked by his reference to their past.
Robert then heads to GH to meet with Tony. He tells Robert that he and Tania are
worried about Frisco and Felicia and urges Scorpio to find them. Robert
reassures Robin that he will stay until he finds the man who wants to kill Anna.
Bert is uneasy when Anna tells him that Robert asked to use the WSB compuuter.
He is nervous about Scorpio being back in Port Charles and tells Phillip they
are in jeopardy as long as Robert is in town. Sean fills Robert in on the
warehouse shipping to the Oliviert Circus, this connection puzzles Robert. Sean
questions Robert about his feeling about Duke, as Robert seems very suspicious
of him. Sean says that when Anna first met Duke that she was also very
suspicious of him and now she trusts him. Robert determines that he will run
Duke through the WSB computer and if there is anything odd about Duke's
background that he will find it! Anna and Philomenia arrive at Kelly's and join
Robert and Sean for cookies and milk.
Damon tells Burt that everything is arranged at the circus for tommorrow night.
Damon tells Duke tonight's masquerade party is a cover to transfer illegal money
from the Oliviert Circus. Damon warns Duke that if the police catch them in the
act, Damon's men will shoot Anna on the spot at the party. Damon tells Duke that
he is only allowed to live as long as he is useful, that if the police discover
the cash transfer tonight that he will have Anna shot. He suggests that Duke
come up with a creative diversion when the money is transfered to elevator. Burt
is nervous that Robert is holed up in Anna's office on the computer. He
interrupts Robert to ask what he is researching. Robert says, mostly Duke
Lavery. Later, Anna interrupts him and is annoyed that Robert feels the need to
double check her work. Then she lays into him for his hostile attitude towards
Duke. He doesn't understand why she is treating him like a pariah. He points out
Duke's lawyer is mob related and didn't that concern her. She said yes that she
talked to Duke and believes him. He shares his suspicions of Duke with
Anna but she doesn't want to hear it, she thinks that Scorpio is just out to get
Duke. He questions every link and Anna points out that Angel introduced
Duke to Damon and that he is a big money financier. Robert questions exactly how
does a big money financier like Damon Greenville know a dock worker like Angel?
He senses a smoking gun here and he will get to the point of it! Anna storms
out.
Robert meets Sean (dressed as a pirate, complete with purple plume in his hat)
at the masquerade. I think Robet is actually dressed as an Italian peasant (or
in something that looks remarkably similar to what he wore to his wedding to
Anna). Robert picks up on the energy in the room and recognizes that something
is up. Duke arranges for the lights to dim and he and Anna do a Tango. Sean asks
him if he is jealous. Robert says no but he thinks the dance is a diversion to
keep their attention. Robert isn't fooled and watches Michele and another
man deliver the illegal cash in a treasure chest. Of course he follows, asking
to see if he can help. The chest is marked "Oliviert Circus" and
Robert leans over to open it. He finds fake coins and a false bottom with more
fake money. Duke's story is the fake money is for prizes for the party, Best
Costume, ect. (In the couple of minutes they had before Robert arrived, the real
money was switched and hidden). Robert later tells Sean about the name of the
circus on the chest. Sean tells him he saw that name on an invoice at the
warehouse. Robert determines to find out what the connection is between the
warehouse and the circus.
(This next 2 mins is glitchy) Robert is still up when Anna comes home. She is
surprised he is still up, and he snarks that he is surprised that she came home.
She slaps him and he apologizes that he shouldn't have said that. He tells her
that there is a month missing in Duke's life. He was supposed to be in Scotland
but there is no record of him having actually gone to Scotland or having been in
Scotland during that time. Robert wants to know what Duke was doing during this
missing month? Anna is sure that Duke would have an explanation for it. Robert
just hopes that Anna isn't going to be the big loser in this story.
When Anna awakes in the morning, she discovers that Robert has left and wonders
what he is up to. Sean arrives looking for Robert. Anna questions him about what
Robert is up to? Sean won't tell her anything that Robert told him in
confidence. Anna blames him for Frisco being on the run that he is modeling
himself after Sean and Robert and trying to work out this problem on his own.
Sean suggests that Robert wouldn't be behaving like a police chief if she
started behaving like one. He suggests that she take off the blinders where Duke
is concerned and stop ignoring anything that Robert and Sean say to her about
Duke. When Anna arrives at the office, Burt is concerned to learn that Robert
went off on his own following some lead and wants to find out immediately what
Robert has learned. Bert orders Damon to find out where Robert has gone, he
wants everyone out in the field looking for Scorpio. Dockworkers are upset with
Duke for not delivering the new jobs he promised them. Duke is worried that
Robert is going to find out about the illegal cash transfers from the Oliviert
Circus, but Damon is unconcerned about Scorpio. Duke promises the dockworkers
there will be more jobs for them. When Anna asks Duke about the missing
month, he insists the computer is wrong and that he was in Scotland. Anna
decides to believe him.
Robert is still away and Robin asks Anna where he has gone, but she does not
know either. All Anna can tell Robin is that he is working. Bert tells Damon he
is going to the Oliviert Circus to see if Robert is there. Robin doesn't
think that Buzz cares about her and she no longer considers him to be her
godfather. Buzz apologizes to Robin for not being there for her in the past.
Sean wants to know when the murder charges against him will be dropped, but Anna
says that the decision is up to Ramsey. At the circus, Bert spots Felicia and
Frisco working there and ducks into a circus tent. He then spots Scorpio, who is
disguised as a clown. Ramsey tells Damon to order Michele to arrange for Frisco,
Felicia and Robert to be killed.
Duke worries to Angel when they are alone and promises that if he has to that he
will contact the FBI in order to protect Anna and Robin. Duke hopes when they
are through with this phase of the plan that he will be able to get out. Angel
doesn't believe they will follow through with their word. Damon enters and tells
Duke that Mr. B has new orders for him, Duke is supposed to marry Anna to keep
her in the organization's pocket. Damon presents him with an engagement ring to
give to Anna but Duke refuses to follow orders. Duke realizes that they are
never going to let him out of the organization. Mr. B wants her out of the way
until the Fisherman's Village is completed, once it is then he will be off the
hook. Damon points out this is his only option if he wants to keep Anna safe.
Angel urges Duke to get engaged to Anna to appease Mr. B. He points out that
Duke loves Anna and wants to marry her. Duke agrees but he doesn't want to marry
the woman he loves to under these circumstances. Angel suggests that all he has
to do to protect her is to get engaged. Duke calls Anna and has something
important to ask her. She excitedly tells Philomenia that she thinks Duke is
going to propose and goes off to find something to wear.
Anna arrives her evening with Duke. As soft music plays, he tells her that he
loves her with all of his heart. He gives her the ring box and tells her how
much he adores her and how much he needs her. He tells her that he wants to
spend the rest of his life with her and Anna accepts. Anna tells him she was
never happier in her whole life. They drink champagne and dance. Anna asks if he
wants children, and yes he does. Anna asks him if he is frightened of getting
married and becoming a step father? He says he will never be afraid as long as
they are together. Duke and Anna come home to tell Robin the good news. Duke
promises her that if she doesn't like the idea that they can work it out. Anna
shows her the ring and Robin guesses that they are engaged. Robin is thrilled
and says, "Hurray!". She is so happy they are going to be a real
family. Robin says that daddy is going to be real happy for mommy, Anna doesn't
look so sure about that.
Robert overhears Michele and another man order two members of the circus to
murder Frisco, Felicia and himself. Frisco is trying to get into
Mischelle's trailer to search the chest. He picks the lock to the trailer and
gets inside and is working on breaking into the chest when Robert sneaks up
behind him. Frisco is overjoyed to see his old friend. They open the trunk
together and find it empty. Robert tells him that the chest is headed to Duke's
Club that night. Frisco suggests that they fill trunk just before they move it.
Robert fills him in on stopping Edna from kiling them. Robert asks about the
printout. Frisco says that printout is the only proof they have that Felicia was
set up. Later, Frisco and Felicia are captured by members of the circus
and ordered to turn over the printout. As a snake moves towards her, Felicia
insists that she doesn't know where it is. Robert comes to their rescue and
frees them from their captors and the three of them escape.
