Sita's Story

Part Six
By Sita Aligheiri

Everyone sat down, agreeing with Oz that this was way too confusing.

The girl seemed to agree. “Yeah, the last thing I remember was the island.”

“Yeah,” said the blond boy, “and the last I remember was, was that night.”

“Ok, I’ll explain, everyone sit.” Everyone complied and Sita sat down ready for some grilling. The blond and the girl sat looking straight at Sita and the dark haired boy remained lying on the floor.

“Well, names first I suppose.” As she said each name, she pointed at the person. “Buffy, Angel, Joyce, Oz, Willow, Giles, Jenny, Cordelia, Xander and Bastard boy.”

The boy laughed. “And I thought my name was weird.”

“Yes Sita,” said bastard boy, “you named me once, you only get one chance.”

“Ok, that’s Seymour,” the blond, “that’s Kalika,” the black haired girl, “and finally, Yaksha.”

Angel glanced down at the prostate figure with discomfort. “The Yaksha? The one who’s killed every vampire he or any of his minions ever made?”

“The same, I see my reputation precedes me.”

Joyce seemed to be thinking. “Wait, Seymour and Kalika,,,”

“As in the boyfriend and the daughter?” Buffy finished.

Seymour perked up, “she said I was her boyfriend?”

“I did not! I said you were a male friend. And yes, they are the same people.”

Kalika looked confused, “wait, who are these people, wait, never mind.”

“No! No, you can’t” Sita yelled.

“Why not?”

“Teenagers, hormones, fantasies?”

“Oh, yeah.”

Xander looked annoyed.

“Well,” Sita said, “back on track. Buffy is the Slayer, she’s pregnant,,,”

“What! A pregnant Slayer! Who’s the father?”

“Shut up Yaksha! It’ Angel, an ex-Stokerian, I’ll explain later,,,”

“Stokerian, as in Stoker? As in Bram Stoker? You really gave us a nice name.”

“Stop interrupting! I had to change him into one of us, world savage was involved so don’t even open your mouth Yaksha! Joyce, Buffy’s Mom, knows, Rupert Giles, her watcher, Jenny, I have no idea, Willow, hacker and genius, Cordelia, shopping expert, Xander, typical high school boy, Oz, werewolf and a guitarist in a local band. Is that everyone?”

“Ok,” Yaksha said n his sardonic way, “now the in dept story?”

“Ok, where to begin.”

Sita then went on to tell her story, from Yaksha’s birth onto Seymour’s death. If you want the full story, read the novels! She also told them about her involvement with the Slayerettes and Giles filled in the gaps.

Xander shook his head. “Quite a story.”

“It is. How’s John?”

“Fine Kalika, fine, he’s learning to talk and he remembers you. Scary or what?”

“Wow, I can’t wait to see him.”

“So Eddie’s dead then?”

“Yes Yaksha, I lopped off his head with an axe in the back of the truck.”

“Poetic justice.”

“How are you with walking? Last time I saw you, you were legless in every sense of the word.”

“Yeah, a bit. I don’t think I could run though, not for a while.”

“Good, we’ll be able to keep an eye on you.”

“Oh,” said Seymour, “the red haired one who killed me, was she the one you fought in the library?”

“Yes, I avenged your murder, although I did lose it.”

“Yeah,” said Xander, “fangs and claws,,,”

“Telekinesis” added Cordy.

“Blood drinking,” said Oz, shuddering.

“Head snapping,” said Willow, a bit paler now.

“And me puking” finished Buffy.

“God,” sighed Joyce, “a month ago, I had a normal life.”

Seymour laughed. “Say goodbye to that forever. So, any clubs in town?”

“What?” asked Giles.

“Clubs, as in dance clubs. I just got back from the dead, I need some fun.”

Sita and Kalika’s eyes widened as they read Seymour’s thoughts and they both hit him. “Pervert!”

“Why on earth did I ever sire you?”

“ ’Cause ya love me!”

“You’re a strange boy” remarked Yaksha. They then began talking at once in small knots and Sita was joking about Yaksha and his lack of mobility.

Buffy laughed, “well at least we can use all the names Angel used on Spike.”

“Spike? As in William the Bloody?” Yaksha said, still laughing.

“And his girlfriend Drusilla.”

“Is he dead? The little bastard.”

“No,” Angel said, “they skipped town.”

“Damn, I wanted his head on a plate.”

They started talking again and after a minute or two, Jenny began to stir. Sita noticed this and told Giles to bring her some place quieter. Willow followed them with a glass of water and some aspirin.

Angel looked forlornly after them. “Will she ever forgive me?”

Cordelia spoke from her space on Xander’s lap. “Of course she will, everyone else did.”

“Hell,” said Sita, “I’ve almost forgiven Yaksha and that’s the height of compassion!”

“You have?” Yaksha looked delighted.

“Nearly. Oh, by the way, a few ground rules for the newly arrived vampires, no feeding from humans,,,”

“Damn!” shouted Yaksha.

“No using your eyes to get them into bed,,,”

“Dammit!” that was Seymour.

“And no mind reading when you’re bored,,,”

“Damn” said Kalika.

“And no feeding till you’re back to full strength, that includes you Yaksha.”

“Does that mean I’ll have to be spoon fed like a six month old infant?”

“Yes Yaksha.”

“Easy street, here I come!”

“Um, not to be rude, but where are you guys staying? I mean, you’re welcome here but there’s not really enough room, not for more than a few days anyway.”

“It ok,” said Sita, “we’ll find somewhere, oh wait!”

“What?”

“What about Angel and Buffy.”

“What about them?” said Yaksha with his usual amount of indifference.

Before continuing, Sita hit him. “Angel needs blood for one and Buffy needs protection for another.”

“So what do we do?”

“We three could go find somewhere and I could keep an eye on Seymour and Yaksha.”

“Not a chance Kalika! It’s way too dangerous and besides, you three still need blood and I still don’t trust you or Yaksha.”

“Cool,” said Seymour, “I’m trustworthy!”

“No, you’re unable to feed from other vampires, you can’t control yourself when feeding from humans and you know that if I ever found you feeding from someone I’d beat the crap out of you.”

Oz, trying to be helpful offered to let them stay in his house when his parents left for a six month vacation to Australia in a week.

“Thank you but no thank you. It’s too far away. Besides, in your werewolf state you might attack us and lets just say I had an experience with a pack of werewolves once and it’s put me off them for life, no offence though.”

“None taken.”

“Well, I can’t help,” said Willow, “other than the whole you people keeping late hours and all, the only guy my parents trust is Xander, well, they think he’s gay but that’s a whole different story.”

Xander looked as if he was going to faint and Cordy took his hand. “Well, I can personally vouch for Xander being 100% straight, but I can’t help with the accommodation thing, Granny Chase just moved in and we have to get the whole house renovated to suit her lung problems.”

“And,” Xander said coming out of his shell shock, “my room smells weird.”

Sita sighed, “it was easier in LA.”

“Why?”

“Well, bigger house for one Buffy. Two houses in the city another.”

Joyce, who had been thinking and doing some math, found an excellent solution. “What if we renovated the attic and the basement? Then there’d be plenty of room, plus the guest room.”

Buffy looked delighted. “Does that include Angel?”

Buffy was rewarded with a stern look from Joyce.

“Hey, we could like, protect Buffy, and raid your fridge,,,”

“Calm down Yaksha.” She hit Kalika in the shoulder for no apparent reason. “Quit doing that! What did I tell you?”

“I can’t help it! I can’t block it out like I used to be able to.”

“What! You can’t?”

“No, I can’t and I feel like a kitten as well.”

“I don’t feel too good either Sita.”

“Me either,” said Yaksha, looking suitably pathetic.

Sita, looking concerned, slapped a hand to Seymour’s forehead, “You’re burning up! I’m gonna be tired in the morning.”

“What?” asked Seymour, not liking the implications of that.

“You need blood, all four of you, and fast.”

Yaksha sighed. “I was afraid of that.”

Sita looked grim, “blood bank for four, fun.”

Angel looked worried and gripped Buffy’s hand. “Will you be allright?”

“Yeah, I’ll probably need to hunt more often though.”

Kalika looked unhappy, not liking the whole hurting her mother business. “Why can’t we just hunt for ourselves?”

“Because it’s far too dangerous! Besides, you can’t control vampires with your eyes and right now, you couldn’t fight an anorexic teenage girl! Plus, I’m not putting you guys at risk.”

Yaksha looked happy, “what, even me?”

“Hmm, I’ll have to think about you Yaksha. Any squeamish humans, I’d advise you to leave.”

Buffy looked down at Angel. “I think I should see this,,,”

Angel immediately looked concerned for his love. “Buffy, are you sure?”

“Yes, I am, it’s who you are and I accept it. Besides, vamps feeding from vamps, it’ll be a change.”

Oz looked nervous. “I think I’ll give it a miss for now. I’ll get the report.”

As he was edging towards the door, Cordelia followed. “Me too, come on Xander.”

Xander, Oz, Cordelia and Joyce all made a hasty exit up to see Jenny.

Sita, apparently unruffled, sat down on the couch more comfortably. “Anything on TV?”

“Um, Sita? Darling? We’re here, we haven’t fed for about a year?” Yaksha said looking amazed.

“Aw hell, there’s a South Park marathon on. Buffy, are you ok?”

Buffy nodded shakily and sat down on Angel’s lap.

“Ok, lets get it over with.” Sita then raised her wrist to her mouth and bit it open. She offered it to Seymour and, without spilling a drop, let him feed for about thirty seconds. Then, sitting back looking to be in euphoria, he turned on the TV to the South Park marathon and started doing Cartman impressions. Sita then let Yaksha and Kalika feed and then moved over to Angel.

“Ok Angel, you ready?”

“Um, sure, that was very relaxed.”

“Sure it was, it’s not the first time any of them have fed from me.”

Angel, looking scared, went over to the couch and Buffy followed. Sita noticed this and tried to reassure him.

“Look, don’t worry. In your, um, the other kind, when you drink, the demon comes out and while it feels good, you feel bad. With us, it’s the opposite, it’s excellent, to feed or to be fed from.”

Angel, seeming a bit more confident, looked straight at Buffy. “Are you ok Buffy?”

“It’s fine Angel, it’s ok. Sita, do it.”

Sita nodded and bit her wrist open again (it had closed over) and tentatively, he took her wrist and brought it to his mouth. He drank deeply, all the while not thinking of the warm, metallic elixir that made him feel so good but of the small hand on his shoulder. It surprised him when he could actually thought he could feel the love in it.

Unlike the others, who had to be told to get off,

Angel broke away of his own accord when he felt satisfied and looked at Buffy. She smiled at him, if a bit nervously, and they hugged each other.

Sita smiled, a romantic at heart. “Feels good doesn’t it?”

“Yeah, it does.”

Yaksha, coming out of his battle with Seymour to do the best Kenny impressions, looked up at them. “How do you feel?”

“Different, powerful, awake, weird. Are you ok Buffy?”

“Not too bad, you look better, your skin’s not so pasty. New experience day though, I always thought the whole feeding thing was the worst thing ever.”

“Well, I’ve been around for a while. If Angel were to feed from you for instance, it would be different.”

“Different as in bad?”

Sita snorted and Yaksha laughed, Seymour and Kalika were still watching cartoons.

“Different as on the better than sex list.”

Buffy seemed happy with this revelation. “Really?”

“Oh yeah, but I’d avoid necking for a bit, it’s a bit risky.”

“I thought you said it felt good.”

“I did and it does Buffy, it feels so good that neither of you want to stop. It’s very sensual, very sexy, with humans anyway, occasionally with vampires but as with all else, it fades with age.”

Yaksha seemed adamant that this was untrue.

Seymour, cocking an eye away from ‘Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boat Ride’ to voice his views. “See, in our kind, aside from the blood issues,,,”

“And the living forever,,,” Kalika said.

“It’s great! If you’re good and don’t kill anyone you’re living la vida loca!”

Yaksha smiled, “plus we’re walking sex Gods.”

Sita laughed. “Ignore them, they were frozen at puberty, a five thousand year old high school boy.”

Buffy seemed a little wigged by all this. “Wow, you guys really like who you are.”

Kalika shook her head. “And you can’t understand that. Well, if it makes you feel any better, I’m not.”

“Me neither” said Sita.

“I was suicidal for a couple of thousand years.”

Seymour seemed surprised. “You three are all so depressing.”

“Don’t worry Seymour, give it a couple of decades and it’ll wear off” Kalika said, making a couple of decades sound like no time.

“Well, humans have no idea what it’s like,” Sita began, “it gets lonely, sometimes the death gets to be too much,,,” Sita froze and listened. “Shhh! Something’s up.”

Angel spoke in a whisper. “Something good or something bad?”

“Good, thank God.”

Angel looked surprised and worried. He paled as he saw Ms Calender walk down the stairs supported by Giles.

Buffy, remembering how snotty she had been to her, was worried. “M, Ms Calender?”

“Hi Buffy, long time no see.”

Buffy looked terrified and Angel was ready to bolt and Kalika put and extremely strong hand onto his shoulder to stop him from going anywhere. Jenny smiled down at him and he was even more confused.

“Angel, they told me about the transformation.”

Everyone was quiet, each imagining what was going to happen, some of the scenarios would have made snuff films look like a Disney cartoon.

“I, I’m so sorry, I’m sorry I killed you, I’m sorry I couldn’t stop him.”

She looked at him with a blank face and then broke into a large smile and shook her head.

“It wasn’t you Angel, it was the demon.”

“What?”

“You’re forgiven, it wasn’t your fault. If anything, I owe you, I should have told you I was a watcher sooner.”

“No, it was my fault,” Buffy said, “I had to play the part of the walking bag of hormones.”

“No, Buffy, it wasn’t your fault and it wasn’t Ms Calender’s fault either, it was mine. I did all those things and I hurt everyone. You all tried to help me, I mean, when I went for you, you had the cure for me. I killed your Uncle and you were still willing to help me. I was a total bastard and I understand that you probably all want me dead.”

Jenny looked stern. “Angel, listen to me. First of all, it wasn’t you, you had no control over what happened and second, I never got on well with Enyos anyway.”

Yaksha, who had been rolling his eyes cut in. “Oh shut up! Cut all the crap. Angel, Jenny forgives you, Buffy forgives you, Willow and Oz forgive you, Cordy wants shoes, Giles is happy to have Jenny back and Joyce isn’t having murderous feelings towards you which is an improvement, I’d say you got it pretty good. Better than me. The people I hurt are all dead and the only one I have ever cared about, hates me!”

Willow, who seemed to be scared, asked who the person was.

“It’s Sita. At least you guys all have friends, at least someone cares about you. I’ve never had anyone, no friends at all, just minions.

“Listen, what’s done is done. The past is never going to happen again so get on with it. The past is dust.”

Everyone’s silent at Yaksha’s very out of character outburst and Sita had tears in her eyes.

“Yaksha, why did you never say anything?”

He laughed, cold and sad. “I was meant to kill my kind, not make friends with them. My vow, it was important to me.”

“Well, Krishna’s back and whenever he learns to talk, we can ask him if we still have his grace.”

“Sita, you always will.”

“What?”

“Yaksha’s right Mother, Krishna loves you because never once, not in all the hate or fear did you forget that there was love. He showed you grace, he kept you because you were so important.”

“Yeah,” said Seymour, “you’ve never had any self esteem Sita.”

Xander snorted. “Jeez, vampires who need self esteem boosting, that’s a new one.”

Cordelia looked at them. “You guys don’t seem to be bad, you’ve saved us before and does anyone else remember having this conversation before?”

Yaksha shook his head. “You don’t know what we’ve done.”

“Hey, what have I ever done?” asked Seymour.

The cheerleader continued. “Well, take your own advice and get over it!”

“Cordelia’s right, from now on, a no guilt thing. Anyone, well any vampires,,,”

“Hold it Buffy, that goes for you and Jenny and everyone else as well.”

“Ok, we all need to forget what’s happened. It’s done and it can’t be undone. We were either young and stupid or old and possessed.”

“Yeah, we’ve never made a mistake,,,” Willow said.

“Unless it was doing something that we didn’t really want to do,,,” supplied Oz.

“Because with the information we had at the time, it seemed right” finished Willow.

“So, what now, everyone agrees to a new start or something and we can only feel guilty about things that happen after tonight?” Xander said.

Everyone agreed, if a bit reluctantly for some, and looked a bit happier with themselves.

“Ok, group cleansing and bonding over, I say we get pizza.”

Seymour grinned over at Xander and threw him a cordless phone. “I like the way you think Xander!”
