Arnold Cragmeyer
Arnold Cragmeyer is a former bomb squad commander who put in for reassignment and became the new head of forensics, which put him a little too close for the detectives' liking. But he always comes through when helping them, providing them with useful information and clues. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Science, and "minored in the mating rituals of the polar bear."

    When Det. Sam Richardson transfered out from New York, Chase was the first cop he met, and he wasn't too impressed. But he eventually grows to like him and helps Chase and August on several cases. He also carries a helicopter pilot license.

    Judith Sands is the sexy police psychologist, whose assistance Chase and August sometimes require. Her and Chase had a past relationship together until he dumped her. She also had a somewhat successful (though short-lived) modeling career before becoming a psychologist.

    Dr. Samantha Morecroft
    Samantha is the beautiful blond coroner that Chase and August occasionally visit to get information on the stiffs that are involved with their cases. She's straight-forward and to-the-letter, and is put off by Chase's sly comments and cocky attitude.

    Bobby Cole
    Bobby Cole, the "Teflon Crime Lord," is a notorious criminal with everyone from politicians to police officers on his payroll. He usually leaves his work to his lackies, operating behind dummy corporations, insuring he can never be directly connected to any of his crimes. Everbody in the city knows he's a vicious criminal, but no one can prove it. After numerous confrontations, his organization is finally broken down, and Cole himself is shot and killed by Chase in a standoff.

    Det. Jack Lawson
    Jack Lawson is a former D.E.A. agent who used his connection within the police department (his Aunt Grace, the police commissioner) to transfer to the P.D. become a detective. He's often at odds with Chase, but the two manage to work together.

    Det. Nicole Stockman
    Nicole Stockman is a tough San Francisco detective. She comes to Los Angeles to deliver a fled witness to the LAPD, who was scheduled to testify against crime boss Alfredo Matessa. Initially at odds with Chase over his reckless methods, the two ultimately become friends over the phone and through weekend visits. She later returns to L.A. to strike a deal with Matessa in return for him testifying against Bobby Cole. Her and Chase discuss her transferring to L.A. so she can move in with him, but she is killed by Bobby Cole.

    Agent Shoenrock
    Shoenrock is a shady F.B.I. agent, a thorn in Chase and August's side when it comes to cases involving Bobby Cole. Shoenrock would show up to take their cases away, claiming it's a Federal matter and getting the detectives reassigned to smaller cases. It's apparent he's on the take and working for Cole, using his bureau connections to keep the detectives from getting to his boss. It's later discovered that Shoenrock is actually working undercover in Cole's operation.

    Suzanne Stevens is a police officer who frequently helps Chase and August on their cases, often looking up computer information for the two.

    Lucy Velez was the head of forensics. She was later replaced by Cragmeyer when he transfered from the bomb squad.
