Colleen Haskell, 23 years old, currently attends Miami Ad School. She hopes to get a job in creative advertising. Colleen enjoys stories and jokes. She "still believes in storytime". One day, while shopping with a friend at a mall, she noticed a contestant search. Unlike most other 15 contestants who signed up for the show to become famous, she simply wanted a free vacation to Malaysia. She recorded her audition tape and also added that her friend would also like to be a contestant. It turns out that CBS would pick her out of the thousands of contestants who signed up. On May 31st, 2000, some thirty million Americans tuned in to CBS to catch the permiere of the first reality game show. Almost immediately, Colleen was recognized as "America's Sweetheart". She proved her skills by surviving the island for 33 days. Then, on August 9th, 2000, sixteen million Americans watched as Rudy, Rich, Susan, and Sean, all voted America's Sweetheart off the island. Among them were movie directors who felt she deserved a career in Hollywood. By the fall of 2000, she would reveive many offers. First, she advertised for upcomming shows for CBS. For her, that was a great chance to practice. In 2000, she was offered $100,000 to pose for PlayBoy. She turned it down, saying it was just not right for her. In the spring of 2001, she reappeared on TV, advertising for Blistex. On June 1st, 2001, just a year after Americans for saw this sexy woman walk across their television sets, she made her big step. On that day, Rob Schneider and Colleen Haskell's movie, "The Animal", debuts. By the end of the week, the movie had soared to the #3 position on movie charts. Colleen Haskell is probably one of the very few people who would gain so much fame in so little time. In the span of just a year, she transformed from just a popular student in Miami to what every woman ever dreamed of being. The fasinating story of Survivor I and Colleen Haskell will likely live on, for decades to come. |
