Dreamin, I must be dreamin
Or am I really lying here with you
Baby, you take me in your arms
And though I'm wide awake, I know my dream is coming true
Laura looks over at her husband and their eyes meet. So many things that neither one of them were willing to admit had just been expressed. Luke puts his arms around Laura, and tightly, but gently, presses her against his body, her head resting on his chest.
And though I just fall in love again
Just one touch and then it happens every time
There I go I just fall in love again, and when I do
I can't help myself, I fall in love with you
Laura listens to Luke's steady heartbeat, as she rubs his chest lightly in time to it. Luke gently rubs Laura's back in time with her. Each move sending a familiar sensation to the other, one that was long missed and very wanted.
Magic, it must be magic
The way I hold you the way the night just seems to fly
Easy for you to take me to a star
Heaven is that moment when I look into your eyes
Luke gently takes Laura's face in his hands, leading her to look at him. Those baby blues he loved so much, filled with nothing but happiness at the moment. His heart felt like it was going to explode from all the joy he felt, but he wouldn't allow the joy not to come. He had almost let go of the love that had always occupied his heart, and it was a welcome relief that it found its way back so easily... not that he ever thought it left.
Laura looked into Luke's blue eyes at the same time. She saw the youth brought back into them. He looked like the same man that was filled with an adolescent's energy and excitement. The man that she almost lost. The hurt, the anger... all of that just disappeared. In its place was the man he was before her secret was let free. The man that loved her more than anything, and the man she could never live without.
And though I just fall in love again
Just one touch and then it happen every time
There I go I just fall in love again, and when I do
I can't help myself, I fall in love with you
Can't help myself, I fall in love with you.
Luke and Laura continued to look at each other, their lips coming closer together until they met in a kiss. They both just received the hope they prayed for that their love was too strong to ever be broken. And it was only getting stronger everyday that went by.
Sonny finished off his third drink, giving up on Laura's arrival. Luke was wrong about his wife's plans. She obviously chose a different hotel to stay at. And instead of searching for Laura's whereabouts, and insuring her safety, Luke was up in his room with another woman. Sonny slammed the empty glass on the table in frustration.
Tiffany jumped up as she heard the noise of Sonny's glass hitting the table. If he slammed it down any harder, he would have broke it. She figured that he was probably angry at being left in the lobby while his friend occupied the room with her best friend. Her very married best friend. Tiffany was put in a position that she didn't not like. She couldn't believe Laura would just go off with another man, especially when she wanted Luke to come home to her. And if Luke found out, there was no chance in them getting back together. He would divorce her so quickly that her head would spin. She knew that Laura still loved Luke very much, and that it was best for both of them to stay together, but she didn't want to keep this a secret from Luke either. After all, Luke was a close friend of hers too. She loved him very much, and he didn't deserve to be left in the dark, even if it would be the least painful for all.
Sonny ordered another drink as Tiffany went over to the chair next to him. She took the drink and placed it on the table. "Don't you think you've had enough?" she asked.
"No, I don't. I'm not drunk yet," Sonny said, as he picked his drink back up and drank it quickly.
Tiffany was worried about this man, even though he was a virtual stranger. "I wouldn't expect your friend's way of killing time would affect you this much."
"And you're not worried about your friend? You've been staring at that door for the past hour or so, like you were guarding it for her. Is her husband due to come?"
"What husband?" Tiffany asked quickly and defensively.
"So the ring on her hand was for decoration, I suppose."
"Well, you've been staring at that door too. Don't tell me you're the watch dog for your friend's wife? Maybe that's why you're so mad. Maybe you're always the watch dog for his cheating ways," Tiffany said angrily.
"I'm nobody's watch dog," Sonny said angrily. He slammed the empty glass on the table and walked away. Tiffany watched him leave, and decided to follow him. She figured that if he was going to interrupt the two cheaters in the bedroom, she was going to be there to make sure Laura got out unharmed.
Luke and Laura were still lying in bed silently, holding each other closely under the covers. Neither wanted to speak right now. They just listened. Listened to each other's steady breathing. Listened to their own heart's joy. Listened to the music that was playing through their heads. And the song was the same for the both of them.
Luke looked over at the clock and looked at how much time had passed. He figured Sonny and Tiffany were probably going out of their minds right now, and he could imagine just how much they wanted to kill him and Laura. He wasn't so worried about Sonny, but Tiffany... there was a woman that could do some damage.
Luke got up slightly as Laura looked up saying, "Five more minutes, please." Luke looked at her and couldn't deny her request. He got back under the covers and closed his eyes, taking in the five minutes for everything it was worth.
Sonny reached Luke's room and was wondering if he should knock first, or just break right in and get his friend the hell out of there. ‘Maybe he didn't do anything more than talk,' Sonny said, but he knew that wasn't the case. He knew Luke had slept with that woman, and he almost could hate him for it. Laura was too good of a woman to just disregard like Luke just had.
Tiffany peaked around the corner and saw what room Sonny was standing in front of. ‘Break down the door, Juan, and we can get them out of there,' Tiffany said to herself. She could care less if they were in the middle of something. It's something that shouldn't have started in the first place, and Tiffany wasn't going to let Laura forget it.
Sonny made his decision and kicked down the door. Luke and Laura opened up their eyes quickly to the noise, as Sonny came in yelling, "Luke, what the hell do you think you're doing, man?" Tiffany soon followed screaming, "Laura, what's going on in that head of yours?"
Luke and Laura looked at each other, then back at Sonny and Tiffany and started laughing. "I think our cover's blown, Babe," Luke said, kissing Laura.
Sonny and Tiffany stood there in shock, their jaws hanging wide open. Laura started laughing harder at the picture of Tiffany not having anything to say. ‘This is a first,' she thought. Luke knew why Laura started laughing harder, and he couldn't help but join in. They continued to laugh until their sides hurt. Finally, Luke calmed down and said, "You know, it would be easier for us to get up and get dressed if the two of you would get out of here for a minute."
Sonny and Tiffany nodded, turned around and walked out the door, still not saying a word. Luke looked over at Laura and said, "Well, I guess they did break down the door after all."
"I don't think they're finding this very funny," Laura said, managing a small giggle despite her side still hurting.
"Their loss then," Luke said, kissing his wife before getting out of bed and getting dressed. Once he was finished putting on enough clothes on, he guarded the door, making sure that it wouldn't open while Laura got up and got dressed. It was one thing to take his chances at being caught in his birthday suit, but he wasn't going to allow Sonny to see his wife in that way.
Once Laura got dressed, Luke took Laura's hand, and led her out the door. He walked over to Sonny and Tiffany and said, "We'll go to Juan's room for now since mine doesn't have a door that can lock anymore."
All four of them went inside Sonny's room, and Sonny slammed the door shut and locking it. Luke and Laura sat on the bed as Tiffany began to pace. Sonny took off his disguise, which was itching him by now, and poured himself another drink. "Don't you two think you've had enough time in a bed?" he asked angrily.
Luke and Laura just shrugged, as Luke got up and got a drink for both him and Laura. He sat back down, handing Laura a drink, and said, "You two look like you're ready to kill right now."
"What do you expect, Spencer?" Sonny yelled. "I honestly thought that you went upstairs and bedded another woman! And I was worried about Laura at the same time. Worried she was going to come in the hotel and find out, or worried she went to some other hotel and would be caught by Helena's men! And all this time I waited for a woman that was already with you!"
"I'm sorry, Sonny. We didn't really think that it would take you this long to figure it out," Laura said.
"We didn't figure it out until we caught the two of you in bed together!" Tiffany said.
"After all my talks about how I wanted Luke back, did you really think I would cheat on him? I even told you, Tiff, that Luke knew that a man was flirting with me."
"Yeah, you did. But I didn't put two and two together. When you said that, I thought you meant that Luke was used to men flirting with you."
"You know, we can sit here and yell at each other until we lose our voices or we can get down to business," Luke said, knowing the fun and games had to end.
"I'm not exactly through with the yelling yet, Mr. Luke Spencer. Not after what you and Laura just put me through," Tiffany said, as she got closer to Luke.
"Well, it's time to stop the yelling already. You don't see me sitting here yelling at you and Laura for even coming to Greece after I said not to."
"Pal, you don't seem to be too angry about that anymore," Sonny said, laughing finally at the situation. He had to give Luke credit for getting one up on him.
Laura looked at Luke, worried again. She had hoped that this wouldn't be brought up, but since Tiffany could let her anger drop, Luke used the one thing he had up his sleeve. "Luke, I needed to do this. I couldn't do nothing while my son was being held captive by Helena."
"I know, Laura, but I did have my reasons for telling you not to come. But you're here now, and I know you're staying. Too bad that letter I wrote was for nothing, but..." Luke said quietly.
"What letter?" Laura asked quickly.
"Nothing important," Luke said. Trying to get off the subject, he quickly said, "I have to give the two of you credit, though. I swear, you are impossible to recognize."
"Well, not too impossible if you picked out Laura quickly and tricked us into believing what we believed," Sonny said.
"Well, I know my wife anywhere. Man, I can't believe you really thought I was chasing after two total strangers the whole time. I had you pegged as a quicker man than that, Corinthos," Luke said.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. What about this business we should get started on?"
Luke motioned for everyone to sit on the bed as he laid out the next part of the plan.
Nikolas was sleeping when the man came back inside his room. Nikolas woke up as soon as the man let the door slam behind him. "Nikolas, no need to worry. Your stay here won't be for much longer. We've already got your father and aunt. Now all we need left is that slut of a mother of yours and your stepdaddy," he said, laughing.
"Don't you dare speak of my mother in that way or call Luke Spencer my stepfather!" Nikolas yelled as he charged the man.
The man pushed Nikolas to ground and said, "Well, I'm only telling you the truth, Nikolas. If you can't handle it, then that's you're problem."
The man left Nikolas alone in the room again. Nikolas ran to the door and started banging on it, screaming, "Come back you coward!"
After their meeting was over, Tiffany, Luke and Laura left Sonny's room and agreed to meet again tomorrow morning. Tiffany went into her room, still angry at what her friends had put her through. Luke walked Laura into her room, and closed the door behind him. "You mind if I stay here for the night? My door is broken and I don't feel safe in there."
"Oh, I think I can let you stay. There's a nice chair for you to sleep in," Laura said.
"A chair? That's what I get after the kind of day we had. A chair? Oh, you sure know how to bring a man down," Luke said, as they both laughed.
Laura walked over to the bed, and collapsed on it. "Do you think you can top before?"
Luke went over to Laura and whispered, "If I'm properly motivated."
Laura responded, saying, "I think I can handle that," and kissed Luke, leading him on the bed and under the covers to join her for the night.
