Chapter 56

Alexis wakes up in a dark room.  She gets up slowly, searching the walls for a light switch, but can't find one.  She feels her way around the room, in hope of finding a lamp, or anything that might shed some light, but there was nothing in there.  Suddenly she trips over someone on the ground.

"You're awake," the man said.

Alexis looks towards the voice.  She didn't expect someone to be in the room with her, and least of all who she thought it sounded like.  "Stefan?"

"Yes?"

"What are you doing here?  And where are we?"

"I suppose that I am here for the same reason you are... Helena has kidnapped us.  We are in a small room in the mansion, as best as I can tell.  Most possibly in the east wing.  I monitored the movements of the two men who captured me, even though they assumed I was knocked out," Stefan said, as he sat up, leaning against the wall.

"So what are we supposed to do?  We can't just sit here," Alexis said agrily, seeing that Stefan didn't seem to be as impatient as she was.

"We have no other choice right now, Alexis.  The door can only be opened from the outside, and there are no lights or windows located in this room."

"So we're just supposed to sit here and wait for Helena to get us?!" Alexis yelled.

"We are to observe the guards movements for now.  We can only be patient in this, Alexis.  We have nothing but time at the moment, so we are to use it to our advantage. As far as I can tell so far, there are only two guards outside the door.  One brings us food 3 times a day, and the other stands by the door.  I have not heard any footsteps beyond the door, so I assume there is no one waiting in the hallway too.  If we are patient for just one more day, then we can make a surpise move on them and escape.  Right now, they will assume that we will attempt an escape and be cautious.  But they will let down their guard if we are patient, and that will be the time to strike."

"So we will just sit and wait."

"We have no other choice, Alexis.  My son's life will depend on a successful escape."

Luke and Sonny arrived in Greece.  A security guard approached them asking for ID's.  Luke and Sonny handed him their ID's as Luke asked, in an English accent, "Is there a reason for this strict security?"

The security guard looked at the ID's carefully, handing them back to Luke and Sonny.  "We are just trying to be cautious, Mr. Laurence, nothing more."  The guard directed Sonny and Luke to customs as he went on to the next group of people.

Luke looked at his watch and whispered to Sonny, "My wife's plane should be arriving shortly.  Once we're through this, we should go wait for her."

"Okay.  Are you sure that she's going to be on that flight?"

"I'm positive, unless there is another Alice Baker on that flight."

Once Luke and Sonny got through customs, they headed for the information desk and grabbed a few brochures, pretending to research the site seeing while they waited for Laura.

Laura and Tiffany arrived in Greece.  Before getting off the plane, Tiffany asked, "So how do we find Luke?"

"Well, we left before he did, so he shouldn't be here yet.  Luke will go to the most expensive hotel here, so that's what we're going to do.  Once we check in, we can wait in the lobby for him."

"Do you think it's smart to just wait in the lobby?" Tiffany asked, knowing that Helena had to have people watching all over Greece.

"We have no other choice, Tiff.  I don't know which ID my husband has taken.  I didn't have time to look through them, so we can't leave a message for him at the desk.  And don't worry, we look nothing like Laura Spencer and Tiffany Hill, so we'll be fine," Laura said, as she grabbed her bag and headed off the plane.

Laura and Tiffany were met by the same security guard that came to Luke and Sonny.  He asked for the ID's and after careful inspection, he gave them back and let the women get on their way.  Once everyone was off the plane, the security guard went to a small corner of the airport and pulled out a cell phone.  "Mrs. Cassadine, there is no sign of Spencer or his wife on any of the flights that have just arrived.  Shall I wait for the next one, which is due in an hour?"

"Yes.  I want to know the instant Luke Spencer arrives in Greece."

Luke and Sonny watched as the people who arrived on Laura's flight walked passed them.  Sonny looked over at Luke saying, "I don't see her, pal."  Luke was ignoring Sonny as he watched two beautiful women walk by him.  "Hey, pal, you're a married man.  You shouldn't be looking at women you don't know, no matter how beautiful they may be.  Remember?  We're looking for you wife."

"You just gotta admire a woman's beauty, though, especially in a package like that one," Luke said, not turning away from the two women yet.  "Come on, man, we've got some following to do."

"What do you mean we've got some following to do?  Luke, what about your wife?" Sonny asked quietly.

"Just trust me, Sonny.  Those two women are too beautiful not to follow."

Luke ran after the women while Sonny was still sitting there.  He looked over and saw that everyone was already off the plane and since there was no sign of Laura, he decided to join Luke.  ‘Since when did you become a straying man, Spencer,' Sonny thought.

The women got into a cab as Luke ran passed everyone in line and grabbed the next cab. " Come on, Senor, we are in a hurry."  Sonny quickly jumped in the cab as Luke directed the cab driver to follow the cab in front of him.

They soon arrived at a luxurious hotel.  Luke and Sonny waited in the cab until the women were well out of sight.  "Thank you, young man, and keep the change," Luke said.

They quickly got out and started heading to the hotel entrance.  Sonny leaned over to Luke saying, "What the hell are you doing, Spencer?  We're here to do a job, not try to pick up women."

"Can't we have a little fun before we put our lives at risk?" Luke asked, as he patted Sonny's should and laughed.  Sonny knew that this was going to be trouble, but he had to tag along to make sure Luke didn't do something he would regret later.

Once inside, Luke and Sonny checked in and went into their rooms, dropping off their bags and agreed to meet in the lobby.  Luke got downstairs first and saw the two women that he had followed.  He slowly walked over to the bar, asked for 3 drinks, and made his way to the women.  "For you, ladies."

Tiffany took the glasses from Luke, and handed on to Laura who still had her eyes fixed on the door.  "Thank you..."

"My name is Charles Laurence.  And yours?" Luke asked.

"Loiuse Anderson.  This is my friend..." Tiffany said, but was interrupted by Luke.

"No, no, let me guess what this beautiful woman's name is," Luke said, as he grabbed Laura's hand and kissed it.

Sonny came downstairs just in time to catch Luke flirting with the women they followed here, and he grabbed Luke, saying, "Excuse me, ladies, but my friend here is a shameless flirt," and dragged him to the other side of the lobby.  "What are you doing, Luke?  I know, I keep on asking you that, but remember that ring on your finger?  Well, I know it's pretty important to your WIFE."

Tiffany looked over at Laura after Sonny grabbed Luke away and said, "That man seemed really interest in you.  If Luke found out..."

"Luke knows," Laura said, as she started watching Sonny telling Luke off.

Luke pushed away from Sonny angrily, "I know what I'm doing.  Trust me, pal.  Now if you'll just let me go about my business..."

Luke walked back over to the women and took Laura's hand again.  "Now, where was I?  Oh yes, your name.  Now let's see... Angel seems to be a perfect name for you."

Laura smiled as she said, "Well, you've got the first letter right at least."

"And I see you have a wedding ring.  Does your husband realize how lucky he is to have a beautiful woman like you?" Luke asked.

"Most of the time, but lately he's been neglecting his duties," Laura said.

"Has he?  Oh, maybe I can change that for you," Luke said, leading Laura up from the chair.  Sonny went to grab Luke again, but Luke pushed him away saying, "Juan, there is a woman right here who you can talk to.  This woman and I are going to get acquainted with each other."

Laura's smile became bigger as she followed Luke to the elevator.  Sonny and Tiffany sat there staring, not knowing what they were going to tell Luke and Laura when they found out that their spouse has just run off with someone else.  Sonny looked at Tiffany and thought that in the meantime he might as well buy a drink and join her, and wait in the lobby for Laura since Luke was too busy.

Luke led Laura to his room, opened the door, and led her inside.  Once the door closed, he poured some champaigne that was waiting on the table, and handed Laura a glass.  Laura smiled and said, "Why, thank you, Mr. Spencer."

Luke started laughing.  "How long do you think it's going to take Tiff and Sonny to figure it out?"

"They probably won't until we go back downstairs.  At this moment, I can imagine that they are panicking that the other is going to come walking into the lobby and find out that their lover is in the arms of another."

"Then I propose a toast.  To a job well started, and to teaching those two a lesson."  Luke and Laura clicked their glasses together and each took a sip.

"What lesson are we teaching them?" Laura asked.

"Not to doubt us," Luke said.  "And it would work so much better if we make it seem more realistic."

Laura looked over at the bed saying, "You don't think they break down the door to stop us, do you?"

"Well, I'm willing to risk it if you are," Luke said, as took Laura and kissed her passionately.  The response he received from the kiss was all Luke needed to know that Laura was willing to risk it too.
