Luke asks Laura if he can go with her to Diana's memorial service

Luke and Laura philosophize about death
Laura: I don't feel like being alone right now
Luke: You're not alone (Luke grabs Laura's hand) Why don't you sit down?
Laura: There has to be something after death. There just has to be.
Luke: Maybe. Maybe. I mean if there isn't this is a giant rip off. Just too many hard feelings to go through in one life time if there's nothing after its over. I don't know maybe when you close your eyes for the last time you just learn how to see in the dark
Laura: My man the philosopher
Luke: Yours truly?
Laura: Yea I have a little philosophy of my own and once you get over that hurt of yours we will have a future together. We have to Luke because if we don't then nothing has any meaning. Nothing at all

Brian, Claudia, and Richard come to Laura's so they can all go together
Laura and Ruby go to the service while Bobbie and Luke talk in the Cafeteria. Bobbie tells Luke that Laura was being very considerate letting them talk alone and that if she didn't hate her so much she might like her right now
Luke asks Bobbie to help him with blow smoke with some guys, one of whose name is LUCKY so he can find out who if he was driving the cab that was by the warehouse
Robert has lunch with Laura at Kelly's and Robert is curious about the guys Luke is talking to
Robert again tries to convince Luke that he would do better if he did business with him
Luke buys groceries and invites Laura upstairs for breakfast
Luke tells Laura that she has changed and he likes what he sees. Luke calls her the waterfront rat who made it on her own two feet
Luke tells her he admires everything about her except her free meals from Robert. Laura tells Luke Robert isn't a meal ticket and Luke says he better be
Laura tells Luke that all Robert ever does is ask questions about him and Alex.
Luke takes Laura to work and asks her if she is free for lunch but Laura tells him she has a date with Robert Scorpio
Clyde calls Luke and tells him that another cabby, Charlie Lutz, is meeting him at Kelly's for lunch

Luke arranges for a surprise meeting with Emma Lutz
Laura keeps nudging Luke to tell her about the Ice Princess but Luke keeps warning her it's for her own good that she be kept in the dark

As Luke is asking Laura out, Robert surprises him
Luke: I'm not gonna be gone long would you like to have a late lunch with me?
Robert: (steps off the elevator) Late as ever the lady is already having lunch with me
Luke: Oh drats well perhaps someday I won't come in second best
Robert: Just don't come in

Robert and Laura go to the Versailles room and run into Emma and Luke
Luke comes to pick Laura up for work but she tells him she isn't going to work today because Jeff is leaving PC with Steven Lars and she wants to say goodbye to him
Laura is angry at Luke (and jealous) over his lunch with Emma
Luke explains to Laura that Emma has information he needs
Luke and Laura run into Lee and Gail at the Webber's when they go to say goodbye to Jeff
Laura spars a bit with Lee about Luke accompanying her to the Webber's
Luke tells Laura that she handles kids well when she says goodbye to PJ
Heather shows up as Jeff leaves and tries to get Jeff to stay but instead says good-bye to Jeff and her son

Luke and Laura go out for lunch and Laura tells Luke why she felt sorry for Heather (LISTEN CLOSELY TO THESE WORDS)
Luke: Laura I know it was a rough day over there at your moms
Laura: It was awful just awful I felt so sorry for Jeff
Luke: Don't worry about Jeff. He's going to be ok. He handled the whole thing wonderfully
Laura: As well as anybody could I guess but Heather, Heather seemed so pathetic
Luke: Pathetic? You feel sorry for Heather? I thought Heather was a really bad word amongst everybody in your family
Laura: She is. She is but I don't know I couldn't help it this morning I almost felt like I was on her side
Luke: Because of the baby?
Laura: Yea I just put myself in her shoes and I would never let anyone take my child away from me
Luke: You want children badly don't you Laura?
Laura: You know I do

Laura takes a call from Emma who tells her to tell Luke not to call her house because her husband is getting suspicious
Luke tells Laura he is very close to finding what he is looking for and asks her to go out with him so they can discuss where Luke and Laura stand after this
Slick gives Luke the low down on Emma and Charlie Lutz and the expensive decor in their apartment.
Luke thinks Charlie stole the Ice Princess
Laura runs into Lee again as she is leaving the office
Luke asks Slick to help him break into Charlie's apartment so he can search it for the Ice Princess
Laura listens at the door while Luke and Slick discuss the danger involved
Emma calls to invite Luke over for lunch tomorrow while Laura listens in on the phone

Later at Laura's apartment, Laura tells Luke what she overheard, though she makes Luke believe that Slick told her while he was under the influence and she demands to know what is going on
Luke tries to assure Laura that him and Slick will be fine and tells her to stay out of it
Luke tells Laura they will have a nice talk over a candlelit dinner to discuss the nice normal life they are going to have once this is over
Robert comes to ELQ and asks Laura to dinner
Luke has Alex divert Robert's attention so Luke can slip out of the office
James Duvalle calls Alex and demands a meeting saying his life is at stake
Robert tells Alex to save her act he know Luke is trying to give him the slip again
Laura interrupts Alex to ask her if she can help Luke because he has a lot of paperwork to do
Luke sneaks out of the office without Laura or Robert knowing and meets up with Slick so they can head over to the Lutz apartment
Luke does not find the Ice Princess there

Luke and Robert meet up at a bar and commiserate together about not getting the Ice Princess
Luke: I was so positive she had the Ice Princess. I was absolutely positive
Robert: Cheer up things could be a whole lot worse
Luke: Really? How Robert?
Robert: Well consider the situation. You're young and you're healthy and here you are in this wonderful establishment having a drink with a dear and trusted friend
Luke: I could almost break into a chorus of I Believe
Robert: It's really gotten to you hasn't it? Going around to that Cabby's place and turning it upside down and then coming away empty handed
Luke: It was full of hot merchandise man full of hot merchandise and the Ice Princess had to be there
Robert: But it isn't
Luke: No it isn't there. I searched every inch of it and there's nothing like the Ice Princess
Robert: Why don't I get us another drink
Luke: Why don't you make it a bottle and a straw Robert
Robert: Look Luke I admit to having a bit of an obsession over the Ice Princess myself but compared to you I'm a pilfer.. You're really hung up on this piece of sculpture aren't you?
Luke: It was my big break man
Robert: You almost make me feel sorry for you. Don't spoil your image
Luke: I don't have an image. I'm a guy from the slums who wants everything and cant get a hold of nothing man. It's just the story of my life
Robert: Listen I made you a deal to come into partnership with me and you turned me down flat for this loyalty that you've got towards the Quartermaine's. I told you what your position was in that organization
Luke: I'm starting to believe that money is a far more noble motive than loyalty
Robert: I thought they were paying you handsomely for your services?
Luke: I was suppose to get a bonus Robert. If I found the Ice princess I would get a very nice bonus and that would mean a lot to a guy like me
Robert: Oh come on you'd only blow it on the usual gratuities. A car. A new Apartment
Luke: NO I would not. I would use that to grub steak me for a new life
Robert: Correction, I thought you were happy with your lot in life
Luke: Some of it
Robert: Laura being an important some of it
Luke: Laura has shared some really rotten things in my life. Why shouldn't she share in some good things?
Robert: I'll give you one good reason. Because I intend to take up a whole lot more of her time specifically starting with dinner this evening
Luke: Tonight? Did you make a date tonight?
Robert: Of course
Luke: Did she answer you?
Robert: Not in so many words but she will
Luke: Well don't hold your breath Robert. She's going to be having dinner with me tonight

Edward worries that Luke might be keeping the Ice Princess and its formula for himself. Alex assures Edward that Luke doesn't know that the formula to manufacture diamonds is in the base of the statue
Robert tries to convince Laura to go to dinner with him but she tells him she is going out with Luke tonight

Luke wants to take Laura out but she insists on cooking dinner for him in her apartment
Luke shares his disappointments the day without telling Laura the details. Luke tells Laura he doesn't like to lose
Luke and Laura see a paper that says Hutch got 25 years to life even though he testified against Frank Smith and the Organization
Hutch asks Bert to tell Luke and Laura that he will get in touch with them

Luke comes over and brings Laura breakfast and a morning kiss
Benny interrupts them kissing and tells Luke that Charlie said he never copped anything that resembles the Ice Princess but he would look into it
Luke is shocked when he sees a newspaper article on Lila's art auction and the Ice Princess statue is right there next to her
Alex assures Edward and Luke that that is the Ice Princess because she painted it black herself!
Edward calls Lila up asks her if the photographed artifacts are still at the house but finds out they are in storage.
Luke makes his apartment look like it has been robbed so he can get into the storage area

Laura is worried when she can't get in touch with Luke so her and Robert break into his ransacked apartment
Robert assures Laura that he had nothing to do with whatever happened to Luke and his apartment
Laura tries to remain calm in front of Robert but her eating a bag of chips in Luke's apartment gives away that she is scared
Tony CASTLE shows up at the Webber's to take Lesley out on a date
Laura and Robert find Luke at Kelly's
Laura tells Luke that she saw the apartment and is not worried as she eats her way through a burger and fries
Laura tells Luke that she put some adds in the Mexican newspapers so she can find Scotty and get a divorce. Luke tells Laura her timing couldn't be better since he is so close to getting that money from the Quartermaine's
Luke realizes Robert is there and causes a ruckus so he and Slick can slip out of the diner without being tailed
Alex meets James and tells him the Ice Princess was stolen and James tells her he might as well be dead now
Luke goes to search the storage area
Bobbie sees Luke's apartment and flips out on Laura
Alex tries to assure James that she will have the Ice Princess back
Slick diverts the policeman's attention so he can search the storage warehouse
Bobbie pumps Laura for information and Laura tells her she doesn't know what's going on and to get off her back
Robert sees Luke going through the art Auction stuff and calls attention to Luke
Luke and Robert both search the storage area while Slick keeps the policeman occupied
Laura tells Bobbie she can stay and wait for Luke but to stop asking her questions she doesn't have the answers to
As Luke is about to open the box with the Ice Princess the police come in with his stolen stuff that was already hot to begin with
The police let Luke go when he shows them a receipt for the stuff but he loses his reason for searching the storage area
Luke goes to Laura's and gets annoyed at Bobbie for asking so many questions
Bobbie gives Luke the list of all the art items for the GH auction
Luke tells Laura he bombed out again and she tells him they don't need this money to start their future together
Laura asks Luke if when this job is over will they go back to being the way they were in Beechers Corners and Luke says he thinks they will
Luke finds Robert waiting in his apartment and Robert offers to help Luke clean up his apartment

When Luke finds out that Laura is at the Quartermaine house helping Lila with the art items Luke offers to go over and help
Laura tells Luke that whatever he wants in the Q's house, he isn't going to get until he tells him what it is
Luke calls Edward and has him tell Laura that he is to stay there and help her
Stella and Lila tell Luke they don't remember who donated the little black statue so they go through everyone on the list.
After finding out Luke hired someone to paint his apartment for $150, Laura offers to do it for $50
Luke agrees and tells Laura to paint the apartment magenta
Slick got Luke a union painter's card so he can paint at the Art Auction
Laura tries to explain Luke to Lesley. Lesley tells Laura that if Luke loves her he will forgive her.
However, Lesley tells Laura that Rick has reservations about Luke being the right guy for Laura
Lesley tells Laura that Tony Castle is wonderful and she intends on seeing more of him in the future
Luke has Alex call up the security for the art auction so he can see their layout
Laura convinces the landlady to let her paint Luke's apartment magenta
Luke tries to be nice when he sees the magenta walls but Alex doesn't hold back on the insults
Bert calls up Luke and tells him he wants to come over and talk to him about Hutch
Joe and Bert tell them that Hutch has been getting threatening messages
Joe tells Luke and Laura that he just passed his bar exam and he is going to try to help Hutch stay alive
Laura interrupts Luke's morning shave and manages to get half the shaving cream on her face.
Rick and Lesley come over to tell Laura that Rick is getting a special commendation from the Sheriff's department
Laura tells Rick that she wants him to try to be nice to Luke since he is the man that she loves
Lesley defends Rick telling him that last summer was very hard on them
Laura apologizes for the damage she caused to their marriage and assures them that she is not the same person she was back then
Luke goes to where the Auction is being held to check where the security guards will be standing
Alex warns Laura to be extra tight lipped around Robert Scorpio
Luke tells Laura that he is serious about their big night and it might happen sooner than he thought
Robert fills Tony Cassadine, AKA Tony Castle, in on the auction. Tony tells Robert to find out what Luke's plan is
Alex tries to get Luke to tell her his plan but he tells her just to concentrate on getting the Cassadines and Robert off his back
The security manager calls up Luke and tells him that he used his name as a reference when Robert Scorpio called
Luke calls up Laura and complains about the walls and then invites her up to breakfast.
Laura agrees as long as he pays her the $50 for painting the walls
Laura brings an envelope upstairs of responses to the add she places in the Mexican papers
Luke reads the responses and none of them are from Scott
Luke accidentally slips up mentioning WHEN they get married and Laura gets all excited.
Bert interrupts Luke and Laura to tell them that the threats are getting worse on Hutch
Luke is ecstatic when Bert tells him that he got him special permission to see Hutch

Luke goes to see Hutch and tries to boost him morale
Luke: I wish I could make it better for you. I really do
Hutch: Don't hassle yourself over it Luke. The world is two ways. Its either black or white.It's either good guys or bad guys. No in betweens
Luke: Except us
Hutch: Except us right

While Luke is still there, Hutch gets a threatening note slipped in his cell telling him to enjoy his visit with Luke since it's the last time he is going to see him
