After Carrie had acid thrown in her face and she was badly scarred she kept very much to herself and afraid to look at herself in the mirror, however, one night she took a chance and John found her crying at home after she saw her scarred face for the first time.

Carrie & Austin were apart when Sami left town.  Carrie distraught that her sister would run away wanted to find her.  Austin who had slept with Sami (after she drugged him) and told her they had no future was afraid that he was the reason she ran so he joined forces with Carrie to locate the wayward sister.

Carrie got herself involved with the wrong crowd her locked her in a cell for a few days while Austin tried to find her.  Austin finally located her and they went back to stay in their seedy motel trying to work on their next course of action.

While on this adventure Patrick Muldoon left the role of Austin Reed.

Austin Peck joined the cast as Austin Reed and Carrie & Austin tried to figure out a way to flush Sami out.  Thinking she was involved with street gangs and prostitution Carrie dressed as a "Lady of the Night" but attracted the wrong person and Austin had to save her life.
