When her relationship with Ross grew more and more serious, she broke up with her boyfriend to be with him. Only six weeks later, Ross and Emily got engaged. Emily wanted to be married in the church her parents did, but it was being torn down. So thier wedding was bumped up to one month later.

The wedding was beautiful, but things didn't go as planned. When taking thier vows, Ross said "Rachel" instead of "Emily." The wedding continued, but Emily refused to speak to him. After Ross's many attempts to speak to her, she finally gave in.

But if she was going to forgive him, there were going to have to be some changes. Ross had to give up his furniture, his apartment, .... and Rachel. He agreed. But it was clear Emily could not trust him. They got divorced.

Emily later remarried, but has not seen Ross since their wedding. She wanted to speak with Ross before her wedding, but he never called.
