Rachel Green comes from a very rich family, with her father being a doctor. She has two sisters who are "not nice people." In the show's premiere, she left her fiancée, Dr. Barry Farber, at the alter. She sought refuge in her high school best friend, Monica Geller, and moved in with her. Barry ended up taking the maid of honor, Mindy, on the honeymoon to Aruba. The first season was filled with Rachel's antics with Barry & Mindy and being on her own for the first time. Barry and Mindy later married. Four years later, he was caught cheating on her and they got divorced.

Rachel worked at Central Perk as a waitress for two and a half years, then got a job at Bloomingdale's. She worked at Ralph Lauren for more than four year until she was fired when her boss caught her interviewing for another job. She was offered another job with Louis Vuitton in Paris.

Although she's had many flings, Rachel's only had three serious boyfriends. The first was Paulo, who she met during a blackout. They dated awhile until he hit on Phoebe.

She then got together with Ross after Chandler spilled the beans about Ross's crush on her. They dated for about a year until Ross slept with another woman during their one-night break and officially broke up the next day.

Rachel's next boyfriend was Joshua, who was a client of hers. They dated a while until she freaked as Ross's wedding approached and she proposed to Joshua.

When the gang traveled to Vegas, Ross drew pictures on her face and she refused to leave the hotel room. They got drunk and ended up at a wedding chapel where they became "Mr. Rachel and Mrs. Ross." Ross said he would get them an annulment, but didn’t. Rachel was so angry, she messed up the paperwork, and they ended up having to get divorced.

When Chandler and Monica decided to move in together, she was going to live with Ross, but moved in with Phoebe instead. When a fire broke out at their place, she moved into Chandler’s old room at Joey’s.

Rachel was Monica's Maid of Honor at Monica and Chandler's wedding. She slept with Ross and wound up pregnant with his child; she contined living at Joey's, even though she considered moving out. Upset that he was missing out on the pregnancy, Ross asked Rachel to move in with him. They were roommates for about a year, but eventually it got too weird and Rachel moved back to Joey's.

Living with Joey caused them to fall for each other, but of course, never at the same time. Joey fell for her first, but she didn't return the feelings. When Rachel gave birth to Emma, she accepted what she thought had been a marriage proposal from Joey. But let's not go there. About a year later, Rachel fell for him, but he was dating Charlie at the time. Then, finally, while in Barbados, they kissed. They dated for a few weeks, but decided it was too weird and broke up. Rachel has been single since him. FINALLY after six years, Ross and Rachel finally got back together for good in the final episode when Ross confessed his love for Rachel so she wouldn't move to Paris. And they (hopefully!) lived happily ever after. ;-)
