Watch out, Spidey! Funnyman DAVID ARQUETTE has a serious case of arachnophobia in 'Eight Legged Freaks' -- a campy new horror flick about massive mutant spiders! The actor tells ET all about those creepy crawlers, the pursuit of happiness, and his beautiful wife, "Friends" star COURTENEY COX ARQUETTE!
The two reportedly met while co-starring on the set of the smash spoof, 'Scream.' Since then, Arquette has also been seen in movies 'See Spot Run.' Here, he plays the role of unlikely hero Chris McCormick.
When a bunch of poisonous spiders are exposed to toxic waste from a chemical spill, they mutate into hideous critters with enormous appetites, ready to wreak havoc on humanity!
Suddenly, it's up to Chris (Arquette) to organize a group of rural townspeople against these hungry, evil arachnids before they swallow up the village. It's a battle of wits in this spine-tingling cross between creature feature and campy comedy -- crawling into theaters on July 19.
'Eight Legged Freaks' also stars KARI WUHRER, SCOTT TERRA, SCARLETT JOHANSSON, DOUG E. DOUG and RICK OVERTON.
