Fixing Mistakes
Lucy walked into the ER a little tired from her last shift. 12 hours ago. She hadn't bothered to drive home. She was in no shape at the time to be driving and since Dave was out of town until tonight she didn't have any other way home. So she snagged one of the open ob beds which were surprisingly comfortable. She and Carter had avoided eachother for as long as she could remember. They had decided that exam 6 was nothing and couldn't turn into anything else. Neither of them liked that but they knew it was the way it had to be. They had been warned by the board that if there were any sparks then they would have to tell someone and that could mean losing their careers. So they stopped giving into temptation for a while and laid off of eachother. She had found Dave a few weeks back and they had clicked. She hadn't seen him as quite the boyfriend material and even now her instincts told her that but she pushed it aside realizing that the only other person to date would!
be Dale and she didn't want to try that. Hell would turn below freezing before she would give him a second look.
She plopped into the lounge looking slightly well rested but her eyes shot open when she saw the sight in front of her.
"Carter can I talk to you for a minute?" she asked him
"Uh, can't it wait Lucy?"
"No it can't it's about a patient"
"Fine, I'll be back in a minute Roxanne"
"Ok" She slid back into the couch after shooting Lucy a dirty look.

"Next time take your make out sessions into a private place"
"I thought this was about a patient"
"It is, if I walk into that one more time, I'm going to have to be checked in for vomiting so much" she walked off. He was always doing this and it annoyed her the most but some people in the ER wished also that he would keep his tongue to himself until he and whoever the whore was, were in a private place. Hell some people would even buy them a room at a hotel or something to get a way from that scene.
He hated it when she got that way. Touchy about everything.
"There should be some midol in the lounge if you need it Lucy!" he called after her. She just gave him the finger and kept walking without looking back.

"Thank you Lucy" Roxanne got up and started walking around like a drunk. Her arms dangled at her side and she even looked the part with her hair messed up and lipstick smeared on her face. Lucy took her finger and showed Roxanne on her own face where the makeup had moved to.
"Oh anytime. I'm surprised I got that close"
"What are you talking about?"
"I didn't even have to buy a ticket like the rest of the ER does when you and Carter go at it in here" she pointed to the window where half the ER stood laughing and giggiling. Roxanne blushed to herself.
"But I'm sure you wish you were in my place right now"
"Me? I'm trying to hold down my meals. "
"That's why you two had some kind of fling in the exam room?"
"I hadn't eaten all day" Lucy continued to defend herself against the other blond bitch and did her work in the lounge at the same time.
"Yea right"
"is that supposed to mean something or are you trying to save yourself from total humiliation that a girl younger than you can verbally beat the crap out of you?"
"First choice"
"Enlighten me" she said sarcastically.
"I don't know why he would date you anyway"
"Neither do I"
"Really?"
"Yes, really"
"Well your reason should be somewhat interesting"
"If I ever felt like wasting my breath telling you"
"That's enough Lucy" Carter was now in the room.
"Fine, if I can't get work done in here then I'll take it somewhere where people keep their tongues in their own mouths" Lucy picked up her files and walked out leaving the door wide open for the rest of the staff to come in. "If he stops breathing in 5 minutes leave him there" Lucy said to the nurses on her way out.
"Roxanne what did you say to her this time?" Carter knew that every time Lucy got like that it had to be from Roxanne's influence.
"Nothing, she attacked me for dating you that's all ,ask her"
"Whatever lets just go" he picked up his jacket.
"Hey wait! Carter we didn't get to see anything!" Jerry yelled when the two walked out while everyone else made howling and whistling noises at them.
"Go home Jerry!" Carter yelled in reply. Not his best comeback but things were in too blurred of a perspective to think right then. But he found himself thinking of someone..........LUCY................
