When Willow walked into the library, she was shocked to find that no one was there. Usually Giles and Buffy were training away, but today not even the scent of Giles’s cologne lingered in the air. < Oh well, I might as well start studying for finals. > She dumped her books out onto the big table. After about 10 minutes into studying chemistry, Willow fell asleep. She tried to stay awake, but she was just too tired. Xander bounded into the library about 20 minutes after Willow dozed off. “Hey guys, anyone home?” he asked out loud. When he glanced around the library and found Willow sleeping, he smiled. As he walked closer to her, he noticed that she was leaving a huge intent on her book. < I guess I should move her to the couch. She looks really uncomfortable > Xander thought as he pulled her chair out so he could pick her up more easily. He scooped her up, and her head rested on his chest. < She’s so beautiful > Xander walked up the stairs carefully, and laid her down on the leather sofa in the stacks. She smiled lightly and sighed. The sunlight that shown down from the window gleamed on her hair, making it look like fire. He just couldn’t believe how ‘angel like’ she looked. She was like a beautiful goddess. It was like you could see the halo around her head. Xander leaned down and kissed the top of her forehead. “Oh Willow, won’t you ever realize that we belong together? We’re soulmates, like the vanilla cream and the spongy goodness of a twinkie. You know what I mean.” Xander’s smile faded as he kept talking. “I need you, and I *know* need me. I’m nothing without you. You put the life into me. Just knowing you’re there for me makes me get up everyday.” His voice cracked as he went on. “I love you so much Will. You are like every great thing in the world combined into one wonderful woman. I want to spend my whole life with you.” Tears fell from Xander’s eyes onto Willow’s cheeks as he cried. I want us to get married; for you to be my wife, and have a kid or two. A little ‘Xander Jr.’ or something”, he joked as he babbled on. “I want to grow old with you, and die knowing that we had the best lives of anyone in the world together. But most of all, I want to die knowing that you loved me for who I am. I want your love back, Willow. Not in Oz, but in me. I know that I screwed up things during the past couple of years. I just recently found out how dense I am, Xander smiled sadly. “I don’t know why I keep confessing things to you while you’re unconcious, but here I am, doing it again. I have to go to class now, but I just hope you know that I love you more then anything.” Xander brushed away his tears and got to his feet. He kissed Willow’s cheek and walked slowly down the stairs before going out the library doors. Willow slowly opened her eyes after she heard him go out of the library, and tried to take in what Xander had admitted to her while he thought she was asleep. She was so shocked and overwhelmed with everything he told that she started to cry. “I love you too Xander.” She whispered softly as her tears ran down her face. |
