As Willow sat up on the couch, she couldn’t believe what had just happened. Xander had professed his love for her, and he *cried*! Xander *never* cried! The only time that she could remember was when he fell off the auditorium stage and broke his wrist in third grade. < I don’t know what I should do. He doesn’t even know that I know! Maybe I should go tell Buffy. She’ll know what to do > Willow though devastated. < He loves me! I can’t think straight! And you know what really makes me confused, I love him too, but I don’t want to damage the relationship that I have with Oz. He’ll probably hate me if I break up with him for Xander. But I also know that it’s Xander who I want. He’s so cute when he cries > Willow thought. “Hey, that came out of nowhere,” Willow said out loud. “What came outta nowhere?” Buffy asked as she bounded up the stairs. “Huh? Oh, hey Buffy. I was just thinking about something that happened a little while ago with Xander.” “Oh. Did you guys have a fight? Cause I saw him in the hallway all depressed and mopey. Definitely not the usual ‘Xander style’. I tried to talk to him, but he said he wanted to be alone for awhile.” “No, actually, it’s the opposite thing. I feel so bad.” “Come on Will. Tell me what happened. The suspense is killing me.” "Okay, okay. I fell asleep over by that table there,” Willow gestured towards the right, “and Xander came in, picked me up, and carried me over to this couch. He started talking to me, and confessing things. He told me about how he thought we were soulmates, and how he had really messed things up between us. He was crying, and he told me he loved me more than anything in the world.” “Wow! I can’t believe Xander told you all that! This is great!” “It’s *not* great, Buffy! I have Oz! What am I going to do about him? I feel the same about Xander as he does about me, but I don’t want to hurt Oz again.” Willow cried. “He won’t be as hurt if you tell him the truth.” Buffy replied. “But go and tell Xander that you know about what he said today so he can be happy again, okay?” “You’re right. I’ll tell Xander tonight, and Oz tomorrow. I just hope Oz and I can still be friends. Thanks Buffy, you always know what to do.” Willow said with a worried smile. “That’s my job Will. Oh, and slaying the forces of the undead.” She added as she gave Willow a big hug. “You’ll be fine. I always wanted you and Xander together you know, and if Oz is the same nice guy that you met two years ago, then you’ll always be friends.” "Really? Thanks. I better go. I already missed three classes, and I have to figure out what to say to Xander. Bye Buff!” Willow called as she ran out of the library. “Bye Will! Good luck!” Buffy yelled back. < I hope everything works out for her. > she thought as she sat down and waited for Giles to arrive. |
