Marvel vs Capcom 2

Armor of Erosion. What should not be more than a fairy tale. What should not be awaken forever. But the end has come. Wheel of fortune ressurrected it from limbo of legends. Hideous wave from the armor has mutated fishes, and unholy wind from the sea killed surface lives.

When doomful shadow covers hope, warriors join. In search of the Abyss, which is supposed to bring everything back to the Sea of Genesis.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 is Capcom's first 2d game to be created using the Naomi board. This allows the game to have 3d backgrounds and more characters than ever before. Marvel vs Capcom 2 has a total of 56 characters including everyone who has appeared in the previous 3 versus games except the bosses and the secret characters from Marvel vs Capcom, with the exception of Roll. Several new characters also appear in the game. Instead of only having two characters on your team as in previous games in the versus series, you now have 3 characters on your team. My favorite team is Rogue, Iceman, and Guile. I also like to use Cammy, Felicia, Sabertooth, Venom, Captain Commando, Akuma, and Morrigan.

For the first time Capcom changed the traditional 6 button street fighter style for a new 4 button style. In the 4 button style hitting light punch or light kick twice will give you a medium attack. Capcom also decided to change the helped system so that instead of getting a separate helped character like in the original MVC each of the 3 characters on your team can also do a helped attack. Each character has 3 choices for what their helper attack will be and these vary depending on the character. The 2 unused buttons are used to call in helpers instead of for attacks. When your super bar is at level one and you press both of the 2 helper buttons your charater will do a super move, if your super bar is at level 2 two characters will do a super move, and if your super bar is at level 3 all three of your characters will do a super move.

In Japan you got extra characters by hooking you Dreamcast VMU up to an arcade machine, ut this feature is not found in the US arcade version. In the US arcade version you get one credit per quarter and you unlock the first extra character after 400 credits then, a new color for a character after 400 credits, then you get another new color for another character after another 400 credits, then after another 400 points you get another extra character. Basically you get a new character every 1200 points. The characters and colors alternate between Marvel and Capcom characters so if a Capcom character was the last one to be unlocked then the next hidden character will be a Marvel one. The boss of Marvel vs Capcom 2 is Abyss who wishes to return all life back to the primordial ooze.
