CHRISTINE ENOLA BAKER EMSLEY was in the Class of 1933
and died on Aug. 21, 2003, at Ennis, TX, where she
moved ten years ago to be near her son, Donald Eugene
Emsley and his family. Burial for Mrs. Emsley was at
Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan "Gene"
Emsley and they had lived in Cisco. He was foreman at
a Ford business in Cisco and was killed in 1966 when
he was assisting a stalled vehicle on a highway and
a car ran into the stalled car.
Mrs. Emsley was born to Luna Crouch and Marvin Jesse
Baker on March 28, 1915. She attended Ranger High School
in the Class of 1933 at Ranger, TX. She was married to
Nathan Eugene Emsley of Cisco in November of 1933.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, H.L. Baker
(RHS-1932), a niece, Patsy Baker and a nephew, Harold L.
Baker. She is survived by the son, Don and his wife,
Patsy Neely Emsley, a sister, Marvelle Baker Jacob of
Tennessee, two granddaughters and their husbands, Tammy
and Vance Barton of Ennis; Julie and Mark Simmons of
Rowlett; five great-grandchildren: Brittany, David and
Andrew Barton all of Ennis; Cameron and Jacob Simmons
of Rowlett; a niece, Rhonda Baker of Hobbs, NM, and 13
first cousins including Everett Reeves (RHS-1937),
Dorothy H. Mathena Elrod (RHS-1939, Dorothy Eppley
(RHS-1957), Sherry Baker Farnsworth (RHS-1957), Jay
Dell Baker (RHS-1962), Georgia Baker Wise, Oklahoma
City, James Mangham, Albuquerque, Marily Mangham
Warren, Yucaipa, CA, Bettye Baker Newman, Arlington,
TX, Madelyn Eppley, York, PA, Kay Lynn Baker Carter,
