MARVIN EVERETT "RED" MCGEE, 88, of Ft. Worth, TX,
passed away peacefully Dec. 6, 2011, surrounded by
his family, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at
Ranger, TX.
Everett was born Sept. 8, 1923 and was the youngest
of six siblings born to Mark Alonzo and Myrtle
Packwood McGee in Ranger. He attended Ranger High
School in the Class of 1942. He married the love of
his life, Louise Daskevich, in 1945, at St. Rita's
Catholic Church. He was employed by Lone Star Gas
as a mechanic for 42 years in Ranger and Gordon.
Everett never met a person he didn't like and
enjoyed living in a small community. He was a
member of the Lions Club, the Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment and St. Rita's and Holy Family Catholic Church.
After moving to Fort Worth to be nearer to his grand-
children, Everett remained active in the community
until his health declined.
Survivors at the time of his death are wife of 66
years, Louise; son, Johnny McGee (RHS-1966) and wife,
Sharon; daughter, Mary Price and husband, Jack; grand-
children, Matt and Trent McGee, Valerie Price and Jack
Price Jr. and wife, Jodi; great-grandchildren, Mary
Ellen and Ben Price; favorite sister-in-laws, Betty
Yeager (RHS-1947)and Faye Daskevich Basham (RHS-1953);
and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. His
brother was Ernest McGee (RHS-1931).
