WANDA JONES ENGLAND, 78, of Big Spring, TX and
formerly of Olden, passed away on Sept. 6, 2007,
with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger, TX.
Mrs. England was born on October 8, 1928 in Eastland
County, TX to Charles Douglas Jones Sr. and Mary
Inez McKay Jones. She graduated from Ranger High
School and attended beauty school. She married
Bobby G. England in May of 1948 at Ranger, TX.
Wanda worked for South Western Bell Telephone as
an operator for 25 years. She was a member of the
Mesquite and Rusk St. Church of Christ. Wanda grew
up in the Ranger area and lived in Olden up until
the last 2 years which she lived in Big Spring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons
Robert & Steve England, two brothers Charles Jones
Jr. (RHS-1943) and George Jones, a brother-in-law
Gene Gilley, and a great-grandson.
At the time of her death, Wanda was survived by her
husband Bobby G. England of Big Spring; a daughter
Terri Cate and husband Larry of Big Spring; a sister,
Joyce Gilley (RHS-1951) of Weatherford; two brothers,
Mac Jones (RHS-1956) and wife Nancy Graham (RHS-1958)
of Ranger, Billy Jones (RHS-1943) and wife June of
Paris, TX; seven grandchildren; Teria, Dana, Jennifer,
Jeffery, Kandi, Nicole & Steve Jr.; nine great-grand-
children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
DAUGHTER: TERRI LEE ENGLAND CATE, 67, of Olden, TX
formerly of Big Spring, TX was called home on Nov. 3,
2021.
She was born July 10, 1954 in Ranger, TX to Bobby &
Wanda England. She married Larry Don Cate in Aug. of
1972 and they lived in Big Spring for 35 years. Terri
was a longtime resident of Big Spring and had worked
for Goliad Middle School Cafeteria for over 13 yrs
& also worked at Walmart Supercenter for many years.
She moved to Olden in 2015 where she lived until she
was called home.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; grandson,
Hunter Cate; great-granddaughter, Ashley Cate; and 2
brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Cate of Olden;
her children, Teria Dedmon of Eastland, Dana Hudgins
and husband Shane Shultz, Bubba Cate and wife Larea
Cate all of Big Spring, Jennifer Cate, and Scott
Hohertz of Medins; 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-
grandchildren.
