GENEVA "JENNY" LEE CANTWELL PATTON, 75, of Ranger,
TX, passed away on March 25, 2018, with burial in
Bullock Cemetery near Ranger.
Jenny was born July 19, 1942 in Grand Prairie, TX
to Willie Odell & Delma Alice Bargsley Cantwell.
She attended Ranger High School in the Class of
1959. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her
family and friends. She loved gardening, crocheting,
bird watching and her peaceful life in the country.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Jerry
Patton (RHS-1956) and parents Willie & Delma Cantwell.
Jenny is survived by her son; Allan Patton and wife
Kee of Eastland, daughter; Nanette Edwards & husband
Kenny of Eastland, one sister; Nancy Cantwell Krause
(RHS-1960) and husband Horst of North Richland Hills,
two brothers; Willie Cantwell, Jr. (RHS-1966) & wife
Wilma of Ranger and Johnny Cantwell (RHS-1969) of the
Chaney Community, five grandchildren; Jessi Tinkle
and husband Jacob of Graham, Matthew Hight of Abilene,
Cody Edwards of Eastland, MiShaRee Gunstanson and
husband Johnathon of Eastland, and Blake Patton of
Graford, three great-grandchildren; Jayden & Emberlynn
Gunstanson, Jepson Tinkle, & numerous cousins, nieces
and nephews. A special mention of a beloved cousin,
Sue Cantwell Watkins (RHS-1961) & husband Keith and
brother-in-law, Billy Patton (RHS-1960) & wife Naomi.
Jenny will be remembered for her gracious spirit and
loving generosity.
FATHER: WILLIE "W.O." CANTWELL, age 88, of Ranger,
died on June 24, 2006 in Eastland, TX, with burial in
Bullock Cemetery near Ranger.
Willie was born on Sept. 20, 1917 at Bullock in
Stephens County to Charlie and Mary (Coffman) Cantwell.
He was raised and graduated from Bullock School. He
lived in Bullock all his life with the exception of 4
years spent in Dallas during WWII when he worked for
North American Aviation building War Planes. He enlisted
in the U.S. Maritime Services for a short time. He
married Delma Bargsley in May of 1941 at LaCasa.
In 1945 he and Delma returned to Bullock where they
began their ranch and homestead. He worked at C D Hartnett
grocery supply, Carl Lumis Drilling, Red Langford Machine
Shop in addition to his ranching business. He and Delma
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2006.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ranger
and enjoyed raising cattle, hunting and trout fishing
in the mountains.
He is survived by: wife, Delma of Ranger; daughters,
Jenny Patton (RHS-1959) of Ranger, & Nancy Cantwell
Krause (RHS-1960) & husband, Horst of North Richland
Hills; sons and daughters-In-law, Willie (RHS-1966)
and Wilma Cantwell Jr. of Ranger, & Johnny (RHS-1969)
& Judy Cantwell of Ranger; grandchildren, Allan Patton,
Nanette Patton, Philip and Jeffery Krause, Ginger
Polster, Todd Cantwell, Clinton Cantwell and Clayton
Cantwell; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert
Cantwell of Bullock; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, & a brother,
Samuel Cantwell.
MOTHER: DELMA BARGLSEY CANTWELL, 93, of Ranger, TX
passed away July 8, 2016, with burial at the Bullock
Cemetery near Ranger.
Mrs. Cantwell was born Aug. 20, 1922 in La Casa to Frank
Bargsley & Geneva Matty (Gandy) Barglsey. She graduated
from Caddo High School. She married Willie Odell “W.O.”
Cantwell in May of 1941 at La Casa. She, along with her
husband, was a farmer/rancher at Bullock. She retired
from Munsingerwear after 20 years. She was a member of
the First Baptist Church in Ranger, and enjoyed hunting,
fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family.
W.O. preceded her in death on June 24, 2006. She was
also preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Mable
Newnham; & 3 brothers, Virgil, James, & Madison Barglsey.
Survivors include 2 sons, Willie Odell Cantwell, Jr.
(RHS-1966) & wife Wilma, and Johnny Cantwell (RHS-1969);
2 daughters, Geneva "Jenny" Cantwell Patton (RHS-1959),
and Nancy Cantwell Krause (RHS-1960) and husband Horst;
1 brother, Coy Barglsey and wife Faye; 2 sisters, Betty
Howton, and Ruby Leonard (RHS-1950) and husband Gil; 8
grandchildren, Nanette Edwards and husband Kenny, Allan
Patton and wife Kee, Philip Krause, Jeff Krause and wife
Sheila, Cheyenne Polster and husband Trey, Todd Cantwell
and wife Amanda, Clayton Cantwell, and Clinton Cantwell
and wife Jennifer; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-
great-grandchildren.
