JAMES HENRY BATTLE, 58, died on Sept. 25, 2013
in Stephenville, TX.
James was born on Dec. 8, 1954 in Munich Germany to
the late James Will Battle & Jewel LaCharles Lowe.
He was a graduate of Ranger High School and attended
two years at Ranger Jr. College on a baseball scholarship
at Ranger, TX. After these two years playing baseball
as a "Lefty" pitcher, he entered the U.S. Army and
also pitched for the Fort Bragg Dragons. He was Medic.
He married Colleen Cleaver and they had a son, James
Stravinsky Battle. James was a member of the Mesquite
& Rusk St. Church of Christ in Ranger, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Will &
Jewel Battle; son, James Stravinsky Battle; and by a
brother, Jimmy W. Battle (RHS-1967).
At the time of his death, James Henry was survived by
his sister and brother-in-law, Lola (RHS-1980) & John
Morgan of Stephenville; sister-in-law, Phyllis Battle
of Ranger; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
