MARILYN M. MILLER HENDERSON, 92, of Ranger, TX
passed away on March 3, 2023, with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery at Ranger.
Marilyn was born Feb. 13, 1931 in Gustine, TX to the late
Roland Byron & Zelda (Tubbs) Miller. She was a school
teacher for 51 years in the Ranger Independent School
District. She was a member of many clubs & organizations,
such as the National Beta Club and the Delta Kappa Gamma
Society International. She enjoyed spending time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Marilyn are her four grandchildren Gage (Jaclyn)
Grogan of Evansville, IN; Lee (Brandon) Hudson of Stephen-
ville, TX; Matt (Crystal) Morgan of Deleon, TX; & Krysten
(Jacob) Russell of Stephenville, TX, as well as thirteen
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death
by her husband Richard E. Henderson (RJC Coach) in 1978;
brother Bill Miller in 2015; sister-in-law Caroline Miller
in 2014; and her daughter Marilyn Amelia “Mimi” Morgan
(RHS-1977) in 2015.
HUSBAND: COACH RICHARD HENDERSON, 54, was born
in Electra, TX, to Katherine Greer and John C. Henderson
on Fe. 26, 1924. A graduate of TCU, where he played football,
he came to Ranger in 1950 as the Assistant Coach (Line) for
the Ranger under Head Coach, Boone Yarbrough, & then assumed
the position of Head Coach for several years before his deat
in Sept. of 1978. He served in Europe during WWII & returne
home to finish college.
His wife, Marilyn, has taught at Ranger High School since
1953 and is now retired. A daughter, Mimi Henderson Morgan
(RHS-1977), resides in Ranger with her husband, Henry F.
"Hank" Morgan (RHS-1982). Mimi is also a teacher at Ranger
Elementary. Four grandchildren include Gage Grogan (RHS-
2003), Matt Morgan (RHS-2002), Laura Lee Grogan (RHS-2005),
& Krysten Morgan (RHS-2006).
