Veren and Comet
We got there first and set up. They showed up a couple hours later. When they came over to visit, they had Comet loose and he ran over to our rig and visited with Ruston. Henry was petting him when Comet suddenly realized it was US! He began jumping up into Henry's arms and was so excited he was in jeopardy of falling over and Henry had to catch him and hold him and put him on the ground and tell him to 'settle', which he did. It was so fun to see him remember us!

The weather was wonderful and we went hiking, visited every evening for dinner, watched each other's videos of the dogs featured on TV (Comet) or on vacation (Ruston in Tennessee on stage). We gave Veren little gifts Henry had collected at work like T shirts, caps, pens, calendars, etc. Veren and Henry spent a lot of time talking which is something many folks don't do with Veren because he has a hard time expressing himself. That's a shame because he is a very intelligent young boy.

Verlene, his mom, told me that CCI contacted her that week about Women's World magazine wanting to do an article on CCI graduates who stay in contact with their PR's (puppy-raisers). She thought of Verlene and us. Verlene said she would be willing to do the article but wasn't sure about us, but since we were getting together that weekend for camping, she would broach the subject. LOL This would be great PR for CCI if it happens!
