This is an interesting song that offends Christians everywhere, but it's really not what people make it out to be. It's not Trent denying God's existence. It's the Pig. If you recall, I pointed out that Trent does believe in God and religion, and that is what keeps him sane. When the Pig eliminates God from the equation, it takes complete control.
He sewed his eyes shut because he is afraid to see
A common conception of religion is that it blinds people to truth.
He tries to tell me what I put inside of me
Christianity establishes a moral code.
He's got the answers to ease my curiosity
It does provide answers to life's questions..
He dreamed a god up and called it Christianity
The Pig is saying that it's all a fraud.
God is dead and no one cares If there is a Hell I'll see you there
This part is the Pig convincing Trent.
He flexed his muscles to keep his flock of sheep in line He made a virus that would kill off all the swine
Here, we get into biblical references. Not only does the word sheep refer to followers of Christianity, it refers to a story in the Bible, which tells of a flock of sheep that was possessed by demons. God sent the demons into a group of pigs, which ran into a body of water to drown. This is where the Pig gets its name. It is Trent's demon.
His perfect kingdom of killing suffering and pain Demands devotion atrocities to his name Your god is dead and no one cares If there is a Hell I'll see you there.
Throughout history, much death, suffering, and pain has been done in the name of God. (Evidently, people have no free will. I won't get into that here.) The Pig is saying that all the suffering, pain, and death is God's fault, and that following a religion encourages said suffering.
