"Compassion"

I got a taste of your tears,
The compassion you must feel...
When I turn my eyes away from you,
The pain you feel is real.

I cry when I look at you,
Cry when you look at me,
And my eyes begin to see,
The depth of your grace,
But most of all... the tears...
As they ripple down your face.

My heart cries out to love so strong,
Especially after I've done what's wrong...
I try to hide and I try to run,
Only to realize...
There is no escaping the sun.

I cry when I look at you,
Cry when you look at me,
And my eyes begin to see,
The depth of your love,
And the width of your grace,
But most of all... the tears...
As they ripple down your face.

I got a taste of your tears,
The compassion you must feel.
When I turn my eyes away from you,
The pain you feel is real.
